This tool forum website is such a great asset to the online community. I have learned so much about tools and their uses the last two years thanks to the wonderful and knowledgeable individuals who contribute information to this forum. As a return gift, I want to inform the forum members about the huge Sears.com online sale (Note: I am not affiliated in any way with Sears). I believe the sale started today. I have no clue how long it will last. I purchased the below items from Sears.com this morning.

I forget to mention the following in the original thread: at Sears' online checkout, I used coupon code "SWELCOME0198" to get $5 off a $50 purchase.

Besides the discounted tools I ordered this morning, Sears has discounted a good number of other tools from manufacturers and brands such as SK, KD Tools, Lisle, and of course Craftsman. Do a search using the above manufacturers on Sears.com to find the discounted tools.

Good find. I need to pick up some spring compressors but don't want to cheap out on them. Having one break or malfunction would be bad.

4x4Mike, I am by no means a professional mechanic LOL Check out my name though haha,
Anyways I just got a Haynes Manual for a 2003 Toyo Highlander, I was looking at the suspension pictures and they have one that looks like the KD Tools Strut Compressor. The CM looks like the ones you rent from Autozone, I too am scared of those kind but everyone uses them including me. I read somewhere online this guy uses 3 of those one on each side and one on front, Sound awkward?

I'm actually picking up another strut compressor set today so I can do that exact thing. I'm changing out the struts on my wife's Caravan and I can't get the spring compressed enough with just one set. I can only get two coils on one of the compressors if I put them opposit each other. If I use at least three, I can get three coils on two of them and two on the third. That should compress it enough to disassemble, and provide an extra margin of safety.

I have the KD style now and I think it works pretty well. By looking at the pictures, it's beefier around the "hooks" than the Craftsman. Which seems like it would be for safety. Unfortunately, the KD one isn't available locally so I'll have to go with the Craftsman.
