Not Matco from 1957, but a tool like what Matco sells now that was purchased in 1957. I bought it at Rella Brothers NAPA in Jersey City NJ. I remember that because I bought all my tools and supplies there, since I could charge them to my fathers account. He was always amazed at my ability to take something apart and fix it, and was always willing to allow me to have whatever tools I needed to get the job done, even it it cost more than having to done by a commercial garage. The only thing that I didn't do was brakes. I didn't feel confident that I could do them right and if they failed, then I was toast... burnt toast at that...
PS....... just for the heck of it, I just went to the NAPA website to see if they were still in business, and to my surprise, there is no NAPA store in Jersey City any longer. Back then it was a huge store, and a thriving business.
