We were notified at work to stop using 2 ton engine hoists sold under the following part numbers:

Jet - Model “JHC-200X” and “JFHC-200X”
•Omega Lift Equipment – Model “44020”
•MAC Tools Inc. – Model “EC3000”
•Matco Tools – Model “MEC2T”
•Pro-Lift – Model “T-1481”

The tube the jack mounts to is failing during cert testing, which is performed at 125% of rated load.

don't think ive ever lifted over the rated capacity on mine anyway. but did lift a fully loaded 6.5 diesel in and out of a 3500hd once with a torin 2 ton fully extended. had to have 2 guys stand on the back just to it from tiping over. that was scary but had no choice. :headshake

That was lifting over the rated capacity. So you just lied to all of us, you are bad. No one on the GJ would ever do that.

uhh... yeah, a 2 Ton fully extended isn't rated at 2 tons anymore. Likely 500lbs, and that diesel was probably over that.

Just giving you ****, but I am telling your boss!

I know its cool. Go ahead I don't work at that $h1t hole anymore. just sayin. Any shop that would allow and want us to do that is a hole anyway. That cherry picker was at home quality at best not a commercial model never ment to be used every day. just dumb.

I dont think i have ever been impressed with a jet product.

I have quite a few Jet woodworking machines and Powermatic which they also own. They also own Wilton machine and Vice. I am here to tell you that my Jet grinder and other woodworking machines are better and smoother than my Delta machines. I own 84 machines in all between CA and Indiana shops. I am not sure about the cherry picker but everything else is very good quality.

Many of the engineers and sales staff left Delta 20 years ago and went to Jet. I have known some of them that long because I go to the professional trade shows.

Quality of the parts on mine seems good, it even has some grade 8 bolts but mine had one hole that was drilled/punched about 3/8" off. It was for the support braces in the back. It's a serious problem (or at least a headache) since you can't just throw this thing in your pocket and go to the store to return it. This picture will show you visually how much this is off by. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be perpendicular.

There was a similar recall on hoists some years back. It wasn't the quality of the parts that was the issue, but the placement of the jack and support lined up in a perfect storm with the pin holes.
