Thanks. That's a pretty good deal. I have an old school Ryobi cordless and it's fine. I have way old Makita 9.6v stuff and I don't know if I can buy equivalents in the right angle slim model. Heck of a tool for tight places. I even have the 3 1/4" saw.

To tell the truth, I should take the 99 bucks and buy a couple of those 9.6 batteries. Damn good little tools. It's nice to have all of one kind using the same battery, but where/when does it stop?

I just bought my kit today, I always liked Ryobi for inexpensive power tools. But when i registered the warranty online they claim it to only be a 2 year warranty on my "Dashboard Toolbox".

Driving long screws is much easier with an impact. I have not used the Ryobi, but I'm tempted to try it out since I need some batteries...

I have a makita impact and i love it. I bought the ryobi for my dad as a retirement gift. He never used one before, but he really likes it.

If you have the means, i highly recommend it.

Once you start using an Impact driver, you will not want to use a drill for anything other than drilling ever again. I actually use my impact for drilling when ever I can too. I have used my Ryobi impact a ton in the last few weeks and it is a joy to use. It drives wood screws like butter and doesn't have that bulky or clumsy feeling like when using a drill.

There is no convincing. You should be asking what you would need a drill for. Drill is only good for drilling holes, which I don't do hardly any compared to driving screws.

I have been using impact driver for the past two days around the house and still have plenty of battery life left on the first charge. I am surprised with it being the compact batteries.

I think the compact lithium batteries are supposed to be equivalent or better than the older NiCad batteries.

Online showed $129 for me as well and $99 on the tag. If anyone has a store that does NOT show it for that price just take them the current ad for the Memorial Day Sale. Its on one of the last pages and nowhere does it say anything about the duration of that particular item. However in the bottom left corner of the page in fine print it says "Except as noted, prices effective 5/23-5/29/2013" so the sale is still going on. Picked one up for Fathers Day since he loves my 12v Max Dewalt. Thank you OP

drill for driving in screws in soft wood and drilling holes. Impact for driving in screws into hard wood. Each has its places. On soft wood I pre drill then put in the screw to prevent cracking the wood. I have drills and impact drivers. And depending on what I am working on, it determines which one I use.

Fck it. I got one. It's pretty good!!
And HD has a 42 impact bit set for 20 bucks. A roll of electrical tape didnt have a scan bar so they gave it to me.

Picked it up, then used an impact for the first time to drive in some 2 1/2 deck screws. Jesus I been missing out. I will be using this thing a ton.
