I like your garage and always enjoy seeing garages and homes from different parts of the world and how other people do things.

The nice thing about painting your walls is that paint is very easy to change if you do not like the colour.

I could not imagine living where winter is 8 months out of the year and the temperature is so cold.

Don't worry about your english. It's better than some Americans that I know

I also like to see other garages to adopt some ideas for my own garage. I absolutely agree with you concerning my walls.

My wife is from Lithuania and there is a big difference in the ability to speak English based on age. People 40 or older seem to speak Lithuanian and Russian. And people in their 20s speak Lithuanian and English. My wife is in her early 30s so she leaned Russian and English.

I'd like to tell you about my day. It started at 3 a.m. We had to pass 370 miles by my car. I'm posting some photos of our roads and views.

That's the way we look at 3 a.m.

The aim of our journey was purchasing a turning workstation of "Barbie-size". Production is Poland.

My plans for it is to take to pieces, to clean, to paint and to assemble.

A lathe is a great addition to any shop and that looks like a nice machine! It is a little difficult to get a perspective of size from the photo ... can you tell us the turning capacity? Maximum length and maximum diameter?

Well, yeah, maybe it is small compared to lathes in shipyards, but you can do a lot of work on a small machine ..... bushings, small shafts, etc.

Of course, I had to convert the mm sizes you provided to inches so I could get a better perspective of size!!! (About 15 in. x 6-1/4 in.) Maybe someday the US will get up to speed with the rest of the world and convert to the metric system .... but probably not in my lifetime!

I apologize that I didn't express my point of view correctly. You have more opportunities, in general tools and goods are cheaper (I mean if we convert it to rubles). In my city I don't have such cabinet for tools, for example. If I order them from Moscow, the smallest one will cost 800 $ - that is my month's salary.

If one is wealthy, there are expensive and superb quality tool chests and tools available; if one is not so wealthy there are lower cost, lesser quality tool chests and tools available; and if one is a pauper, there are cheap, low quality tool chests and tools available. Supplies and selection of excellent to junk tools are readily available at local stores and on-line sources of tools, parts, material are also easily accessed via the computer.

I agree with you! But our economical situation is that sellers bring a total "****" to the market for the price that I can't afford.

Yesterday I received a parcel that I had waited for 2 weeks: Soviet air hand-held grinding tool. The parcel is from Ukraine.

It's way harder to get quality tools in eastern Europe than in the US.
Here you pay the US Snap On price on ****** tools and if you want to get quality stuff you end up paying a lot more than someone who lives in the US.
I wanted to buy some Snap On and Matco tools but I would have payed insane prices, so I had to give up the ideea.

I thought about that too, but I don't have the time yet.
Nor a good welding machine which I really need.

It would be a lot cheaper and way better built but it's very time consuming.

Thank you! Earlier factories used to make such ART machines. Also a german turning lathe was on sale. It was so vintage! But it was situated very far from me and was very expensive, unfortunately. And it would obviously require my time to make it works.

That vise looks great!! It looks too good to use, so now you'll have to buy a junk vise for your daily work!

Hope you post pics of the drill press restoration as it progresses. I bought an old drill press years ago for essentially scrap value and restored it. A very fun and rewarding project.
