I have often looked at those and though to myself "Man I wouldn't mind a set of these" and then my wallet gives me a kick in the @$$. Nice looking ratchets, you say your favorite? I have the Full polish professionals or thin profile(I don't remember what they called them) I like those well enough

Not to rain on your parade, but the actual ratcheting mechanism is made in Taiwan 
Everything else is USA made though!
It seems like almost nothing in Sears will be made in the USA anymore. Sockets, wrenches (and all their variants), ratchets have all gone to China. Prybars, picks, etc are moving over there right now, and who knows how much longer the pliers and hammers will last....eBay is full of good deals on USA craftsman stuff though! Picking up bunches of it for the same price (or a few bucks) more than what sears sells the Chinese stuff at, and unused too!

Those are the "Premium" Ratchets with 84 teeth. Top of the line for Cman Ratchets Premium Grade Ratchets
The thin Profiles are the ones I was referring to. 60 Teeth. WAY better than the Raised Pannels though. Thin Profile
I guess neither of them are called the professional.

I bought 3 sets of these (but did have some duds that had to be swapped out). If anyone has rebuild kit part numbers please post them up.

where did you come up with that?
they are certainly not made in taiwan, thats for sure. when i get the rebuild kits for those ratchets, they say "made in the USA" right on the kit.
there are mechanisms made in taiwan/china for the gearwrench versions, but the matco/armstrong/Cman permiums are USA made internals and body.

I own all three of those they are nice very comfortable. I.had to cut down the spring on my 1/4 to smooth it out a bit.

I was under the impression that because they are stamped made in the USA the internals were also made in the USA is that not the case?

Ahh, I was wrong then. Knew the ratcheting mechanisms were the same as the GW ones and only saw info for the bodies being made in the USA.

I find the quick release to be overrated. I don't beat my ratchets very hard though I have always been a big fan of breaker bars.
I have Armstrong flex ratchets with the same gear all three sizes at home and 1/2 at work and they haven't failed me yet.

I just picked up a 1/2 and 3/8 myself since they had them nearly half off at a local store as part of their local ad deals. I'm looking forward to giving them a spin soon.

A while ago I had some old busted C-Man rats, and went to Sears to buy/warranty rebuild kits. But I saw these on the shelf, so I grabbed them and exchanged them.
The lady tried to tell me I had to get the import ones, but I stood my ground and said I paid for USA and in turn I wanted USA. After some smiling and convincing, she said ok. May work for y'all as well. Happy trails!

I have the 3/8 It's a nice little ratchet, I like the handle style too, little more comfortable when yanking on tight bolts
