There are several things that I am on the lookout for:

1. a milling machine
2. metal lathe
3. quality, us made old hand tools, both mechs and wood working
4. ridigid cordless tools
5. old airens lawn equipment, the kind you that has the drive unit and you can swap attachments, so far I have 4 power units in working order and 1 22 inch mower, 3 snow blowers and the vac. still looking for the rotary mower and tiller attachments. Just got a line on another power unit and snow blower last night. These were built in the late 60's and early 70's.
6. I'm always on the lookout for old welding tools.

Old metal lathes.

I've owned more than a half dozen South Bend 9"s and a few Atlas/Craftsman 6/10/12's.

Some have been upgrades/replacements for whatever my current one is, some have been bought just for the tooling/attachments and some I bought just because they were "too cheap" and I knew I could make a few bucks flipping them or parting them out to pay for my addiction.

It used to be ratchets but now its Snap on ratcheting screwdrivers. Damn things have got a hold on me!!! I'm pretty much down to a few oddball ones that continue to elude me. I'm pretty much set up in all the rest. Just a few items missing that I keep my eye out for.

1960's era Craftsman =V= socket sets. I seem to have a compulsion to acquire multiple sets from the '60 catalog and end up buying extras just to get one or two hard to find pieces. It started in my teens as a desire to duplicate my Grandfather's toolbox, now I can't stop. It's been a 35+ year quest so far.

Unusual hammers. There's something about an odd shaped or handmade hammer that gets me wondering about the guy who made/used it that makes me have to have it.

Not necessarily CL (Although I do indulge from time to time) mostly at yard sales and the like, and if the price is low enough I'll probably pick it up.

I have been getting a bit more particular these days. It has to be something interesting if I have the basics already. It might be easier to say what I WONT buy another of however

Hammers if not something interesting or super old, I'll let them lie, Crescent/adjustable and pipe wrenches also. Cman in general unless I have a specific need or hole to fill.

Something different or Proto/Plumb/SK/older williams/SO/MAC/other high end tools cheap = mine...

Hording? No; collecting and building my daily use set past my early Cman start...

It used to be ratchets, but i've given up on buying tools.

Now i always look out for flashing lights from a certain manufacturer (Vision Alert) but having spent about $1,600 on them i need to stop buying them too..

Do I spy a Stanley telescopic locking flex? Really good ratchet for the money. Also are any of them a Proto 5452a professional series? Also have one of them is is my go to 1/2 ratchet. The grip is a perfect fit for my hands. I enjoy it much more then my mac vr series.

Nice collection. My tool fetish is also ratchets.
