$5, magnetic ratcheting, missing a bunch of the phillips bits but all of the torx bits are there. I've wanted one since I found this forum.

Such a stellar day. Really ,can't someone come up with a sarcasm font ?!!

Hit a Church garage sale.
The lot cost $2.25
The only real standout to me was the Hanson countersink and the pliers that are only marked with a large V on the inside near the jaws, and a couple of HEX KEYS <- (more sarcasm).
Does the Badger air brush amount to anything ? The last user did a great job of not cleaning it.
Anyway kinda got my fix for the day.

Maybe I'll find that Wilton baby bullet tomorrow.
And a bunch of Snap-On stuff for a "just get it the hell out of here" price.

CL score for me today!! $60 scored me all this from a guy about 40 minutes away from my house. Here's the CL ad http://baltimore.craigslist.org/tls/3840140491.html. I only called for the vise (or vice as he spelled it). With no pics and taking the area into consideration I wasn't too hopeful, but I called anyway. He was unsure of the make, but said it was a decent size one from the US. Said he was going to send a pic. About ten minutes later I was heading down to Maryland from Delaware for the Wilton bullet.

When I arrived he had it sitting on a small 4x8 trailer, and after a quick once over making sure it wasn't repaired or cracked I was loading it into my truck. After that I saw two sheds on his small property and asked him if he had anything else he was looking to get rid of. The vise grips were $10 for both. The Kett shears (in need of a new chord, but working) were $10 and the CM 1/2 ton hoist was $15 (OMF'inG). I couldn't believe it. He had a bucket of thick chain that I should of bought, but he wanted to keep some of it so I passed. It was also getting dark and it was in a pretty sketchy area.

The bullet is a keeper. I owned a couple in the past, but they were both in really used/abused shape. This guy was more neglected (aka left outside) than abused. I will put it in the vise thread for sure.

BTW, YOU **** for that Wilton!

It looks like a valve spring compressor to me. The "C" frame is too light for a c-clamp. The fork is from a valve spring compressor for sure.

Correct. The large "C" frame is a Snap-On CF-19 Small Engine Valve Spring Compressor. When I said 'clamp', I meant the small lightweight c-clamp sitting inside it.

More pics and info on the Kennedy box to come...

ShadowRuleZ, I have had that same screwdriver since mid 80's and still have all original bits. Don't have the box for it (anymore) though. It gets used some too, it's my favorite screwdriver.

Amitygravel, a Badger is a handy paint sprayer for fine work. It works best with thin paints, but tips are available for thicker paints. They throw a circular pattern and can be adjusted to a very fine spray. It is the extreme small end of the "touch up" spray gun spectrum.

They are pretty easy to clean, as they come apart easily and the cup slips off. There are bottles and a teflon pick-up tube available for a more conventional reservoir.

Great for painting small parts. Very little paint wasted, and little thinner used in clean up!

I notice that you got the "canned air" adapter with it. You also can buy adapters to attach the hose to shop air, which needs to be regulated to very low pressures.

This is the Kennedy hand box from above:

I didn't realize it was a Kennedy until I got home and saw the stamped logo in the underside of the lid. I don't think I've seen one like this, though I'm far from an expert.

The tray lifts out.

The latches are branded "Corbin".
Hope this answers your questions!

I think that all of the long bits are missing, as are the pozidriv and most of the various philips. It's got all of the torx and a three or four smaller hex bits. Anything else I'm missing? It's got the 1/4" adapter as well.

I think I did okay today. Didn't find what I was looking for which was an AC transformer for the Lionel set I got a month ago.

IMG_4018.JPG

$1 for the plates, $1 for the SK Wayne 3/8" ratchet, and $1 for the SK bit driver, two SK offset screwdrivers, one craftsman offset screwdriver, and one stanley offset screwdriver.

IMG_4020.JPG

IMG_4021.JPG

$40 for a Bluepoint KRW48 in great shape. And I forgot to mention it's got stuff in it too. I'll be going through it in a little while.
IMG_4022.JPG

$20 for Montgomery Wards PowrKraft 230 welder.
IMG_4019.JPG

Before I got the welder, I had actually stopped at another sale five houses down and they had a bunch of consumables. After I owned a welder, I went back and picked these up for $60. 5/32" and 3/16" Lincoln 7018 rod and some cutting rods (on the left). Wished he had 1/8", but it looks like you can use 5/32" fine on 1/8" so no big deal.

I think this was the guys tune-up box, here's the contents.
IMG_4024.JPG

On the left is fuller adjustable wrenches, combination wrench, and both sets of pliers all Japan. Kershaw scissors, yankee clipper sharpening stone, craftsman round file. Moving to the top, snap-on battery cleaner, bluepoint gappers, craftsman offset ratcheting wrench, snap-on, craftsman, stanley screwdrivers. The yellow/red is a matco, the last screwdrive is a rosco 'two fister'. Next row is various extensions (Herbrand, Craftsman, Snap-on, mac, SK), three SK-sockets, craftsman 1/4 ratchet, craftsman spark plug scokets, craftsman SAE allen wrenches, snap-on socket, snap-on 1/4 adapter, snap-on distributer wrench, craftsman double offset wrench, snap-on 3/8 flexible extension, craftsman battery puller. Above that are three odd sockets (two are marked Germany, the other after I looked up the part number is a Blackhawk sending unit socket), and below the allen wrenchs are three snap-on impacts, and the large sockets. Last row has a crestoloy adjustable, four pairs of USA visegrips, three snap-on punches, and two pairs of unknown pliers, and a set of channellocks.

I'm not sure on the orange handled pliers, one is marked made in West Germany and the other made in Germany.

The other one I have no idea what it is is below the screwdrivers (the tool with a black handle and the diamond shaped tip running perpendicular to the screwdrivers). It's snap-on with a broken handle, it almost looks like one of the nut splitter tools but it look heavy duty enough to be one and the red coating doesn't make sense. Any ideas? I can't make out a part number on it either.

And the Taiwan/China

Nice stuff guys.

Shadow, you really ****

I love digging through box lots of tools like that. Like a glimpse into someone else world. Make sure to pics of what all is inside.

I stopped by a few sales that I saw on the way home this morning. Almost all were way overpriced. The one sale that was reasonable was all baby clothing.
One sale had a bunch of nice tools. The pricing system was, you selected a tool and the lady running the sale would look at her computer screen then tell you a price. She was probably looking at ebay or the like. As the prices she quoted were out of this world. She even had some new craftsman stuff still in the package, priced the sames as sears :lol_hitti Needless to say my wallet stayed in my pocket.

Seems to be a theme around here, super high prices at garage sales. Usually not worth the gas to make a special trip out.

This. Still no Wilton finds for me.

Only one I've ever seen advertised locally in my two years of looking was only in marginally better condition and they wanted $250, and wouldn't budge more than $20 or so when I called. I guess some sucker bought it because the ad went down a week later and I haven't seen it on feeBay.

Good hauls guys!

Not a ton for me, but I'm happy with the day.

First up some stuff I forgot to post last week:

A jar full of Banana Jacks and plugs, and similar connections. $1 at an estate sale that was near over and the mini jug was a whole dime!

Some of Today's haul: First stop I got the small pry bar,(Oldforge - USA) Utica dykes, and BluePoint and BMW DOE wrenches. $4 all. Second stop had the Chuck, (1/2" Albrecht - Germany, I was hoping it was 5/8 but for the $$ it was still worth it. and three deburring tools with extra tips inside the handles. $5 all.

attachment.php

And that 3m tape is in a TIN, not plastic! kind of cool! Not sure if the tape is still good but It's for putting on the shelf with other old stuff not use...

Tire Depth gauge, Air pressure gauge, and an old FORD brass padlock, I think that is NOS.

More to come!

A stop at the College FM and I got things at 3 vendors:

4 bits for a Bit brace that are not drills! 2 hex, 1 square drive an a screwdriver bit. third one down is a Bonney. Plus a pair of W. German Diagonal nippers, and a second vendor had the Triangle piece, which is an attachment for a combination square's blade.

attachment.php

The door guard and the long drill bit came from a third.

attachment.php

And the Score of the day: Quite a bit of Plvmb/Early Proto!

From the top right: Snap-On Combo, Long C craftsman DBE, SK-Wayne Combo, Plvmb Pebble DBE, Speeder, Proto LA Pebble Combo and DOE, and another Combo in 3/4

The wood handled driver perplexes me a bit (And I REALLY like it!). there is a suspiciously SO looking n, underline and all peaking out on the extension shaft. the rest of the metal hex and all is one piece. Clearly made for the handle IMO, I don't know if this is a SO piece or was made using a snap-on extension.. :dunno:

attachment.php

Also from the same guy, the hooks hole saw, and those C presses I thought were made up but the C appears to be forged, and made for whatever they were made to press... :dunno:
