Thought I'd post a pic of where I've been spending most of my spare time the last several months. This is the main work area with four of our five cars, ready to load into the haulers. To the right is another large bay with the other car plus our fab equipment. We also just started work on another new car the next class up. To the left is our pit box, and to the left of that is the bar. The tough guy in the picture is Cameron, driver of the 77.

I'm also working on the restoration of a little two-bay 30s gas station I have owned for several years. But that will come in another thread. :)

Looking forward to the 30s gas station.
This racing shop looks well-used. Is this a team? Where is the racing done?

Nice.
What's the span with those steel beams?

Never measured, but it's about 55 feet.

Looking forward to the 30s gas station.

Yes, we race weekly at Oswego (NY) Speedway. It's a 5/8 mile oval. We have a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Four-Sevens-Motorsports/350662455026322 . Please feel free to 'like' our page and follow our season!

Please please please do, I'm so very looking forward to that.
Great shop and cars you have there

Thanks, I'm sure there will be interest here. But, I probably shouldn't have used the word 'restoration'. It's a two-bay with in-ground lift and office that has modern siding on it. We have gutted the cobbled-in Aspenite interior and have hired new three-phase electric service and insulated doors. I do have a neat gas sign from the era with prices on it around 20 cents :)

What class do the cars run in? Are the frames custom tube or factory? Thanks JP

These are Small Block Supermodifieds. It's a custom-fabbed chassis, mini QC rear, 3-speed manual, 358 c.i. with Holley 2 bbl. About 2400 lbs. with driver. Lap times on the 5/8ths banked track are about 19 seconds. About 118 MPH average, 130 MPH at the end of the straight.

We are currently building a Big Block Super. 467 cu. in. fuel injected on alcohol. about 850 HP, 1850 lbs. without driver. Lap times about 16.5 seconds, 136 average speed, maybe 155 at the end of the straight. Add a top wing for the ISMA series and you take another second off, 145 average, 165 plus coming into the turn. Oh yeah, and expensive.....

I saw the ISMA cars run at Flemington Speedway here in NJ, they were sick...(in a great way..lol).. Do you run up at Oswego? I always wanted to go up there to see the races.

Thanks for the info. I've been to Oswego to see the supers but did not know of the smalll blocks...seems like a less expensive way to have lots of fun. The big blocks really put on a show ...some of the cleanest, fastest racing I have ever seen. Bentley Warren was racing when I was last there...tough. JP

Very nice. While I mostly go to dirt tracks, I definately want to get out to a race at Oswego this year. Now my son and I will have some drivers to root for. I did the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience at Oswego last year. Really gives you a whole new respect for these drivers, and how hard it is to drive around a track at the speeds they do.
