I picked up a 1/2 " impact metric shallow set on their sale from the bolt house. Also picked up a deep 1/2" standard impact set as well. They also warrantied a flex head 3/8" rachet, just picked up a new one off the shelf and gave it to me. It was a 75 dollar rachet nice to see they stood behind it. Last week I purchased the dynamic wire strippers out of there catalogue. Decent quality on it as well.

Here in the maritimes, Gray seems harder to find and the prices are a fair bit higher than what i see on kijiji in the Ont regions. Today at a flea market i picked up 6 Gray wrenches, 13/16, 7/8, then 1" to 1-1/4. I wanted the larger ones, but took em all as a package. They're all in great condition, and got em for $30. Seems a bit high maybe, but i wanted them, and i still think i got a decent deal considering the condition and sizes. So did i overpay? or was it decent?

Yes, prices are very location-dependent; I grew up in Newfoundland and still visit every few years. The prices are definitely higher there.

$30 is either a good deal or a great deal depending on which series the wrenches represent. $5 for a needed large wrench can never be bad!

Years ago (like 20) I went to the Gray summer tent sale (at their factory). Bought a **** load of tools .....never bought a Gray since BUT..nice tools. Sounds like their executive has lost touch

I'll have to call them and hope they answer, but when is this summer sale - is it the same weekend every year?

We're going to the area soon, and I'll have to make sure it works out we go the same weekend as the tent sale!

I'd be interested in this summer sale as well if they still do it.

Sounds like you Canucks are facing the same issue people run into here with Cornwell Tools. Cornwell won't sell online and good luck finding a dealer in most places.

I'm kinda new to this, so have no idea which series they are. I snapped a couple pics..not sure how to tell?

Those are the "0-Series" (no longer made) and they are the roughest of the Gray lines. Not very pretty, but plenty tough, and they were once the "hardware-store" line.

So, a "good" deal...

Last week we were driving somewhere and we were in back of a Cornwell tool truck for a while. I was salivating.

Not to hijack the thread, but there are so few about Gray tools...

Has anyone seen/used the Gray 97103A handbox?

http://www.graytools.com/toolcatalogue/?page=product&name=3%20Drawer%20Hand%20Box&itemNo=1372&s_filter=&recPage=36&startRow=1&pageNum=1

It's on sale in the summer sale flyer. I'm looking for a good semi-portable tool box with good storage, but could be carried out of my truck the odd time I need to.

Hopefully someone reading this has experience with Gray stuff.
I suppose this does follow the topic of the thread because Gray isn't very main stream, and it's next to impossible to get an actual review on a product.

Box doesn't look super deep...

I hope Gray does make it as we need to keep the local companies in North America going. We do have quite a few Cornwell trucks here and companies that are Gray dealers are around but they seem come and go as one time you call them and they changed lines from year to year.
