Craftsman Nextec Multi-Tool $29.99 at Sears

I don't know if I'll have much use for one of these, but it will be a nice addition to my Nextec Right Angle Impact. And, it comes with another battery!

Def worth picking up even if you wont ever use the tool. Battery alone is $25. This also includes a slightly better charger over the right angle tool.

I picked up the rotary tool under the same deal around Christmas. Same reason - gave me an extra charger (an upgrade to a Quick Boost charger) and another battery for very little money. Probably won't go for this one though as I now have three chargers and four batteries.

Just got back from Sears...

Took a print put of the on-line page. Found a Multi-Tool on the shelf and walked up to the check-out and asked for a price match (which they've done in the past). Kid at the counter checks on the computer and pulls up the same page - $29.99. Then tells me that they can't price match the on-line price. I asked "why not, I can order it online for in-store pick-up?" He starts to walk away with "my" Multi-Tool. I said "hey, where are you going?" He puts to tool back on the shelf and tells me that after I order it on-line the warehouse will come out and grab it off the shelf and call me to let me know my order is in.

The sheer idiocy of this rendered me speechless and I just walked out shaking my head.

I got the tool only for $5 a few weeks ago. It's come in handy but the tool doesn't last long. For longer jobs use the corded version. IIRC it lasted around 15 minutes under constant use.

even though I completely I agree they should price match their own website but as a member of garage journal you have read enough of the complaints on here to know the good employees are hard to come by. Its sad, there is one at a Sears near me but it is out of the way of everything I do so its a pain to go see the guy but I know if would take good care of me if he can.

I know the Cman C3 line has different grades of drills. Not sure on the Nextec line, but I wouldn't doubt it!

They price-matched from their website on my phone for the nextec right angle driver a few weeks ago, and I got an additional $10 off for Craftsman Club member. Sadly there weren't any stores with this in stock locally so I got it shipped.

Picked mine up this afternoon. Pretty cool that it comes with the Quick-Boost charger. Looked the charger up on Sears website and it's on sale too, down from $39.99 to $35.99. LOL

I originally found this in the "Deal of the Day" page on Sear's sit before starting this thread. I'm guessing it must have been just that. A one day deal. Maybe it will go back and forth for a while like the right angle impact did. I'd keep checking back to see if I where you.

Interesting, I have them price match for me all the time. Associates are very open and appreciative that I come to the store vs. ordering online b/c they get paid commission. Even if they don't have it in the store they take me to the Kiosk and order my items. They still get paid there commission. Once in a blue moon they can't price match my order at the kiosk but when I pick up my item I bring it to the register and they refund me the difference.

This happened with the right angle impact driver too and people kept posting different links that continued to show the $29.99 price. How they were finding those links I dont' know.

The literature that comes with the multi-tool reflects a drill and a "G2" drill. Drill is 17586 in a kit, G2 is 30565 in a kit.

I just opened my multi-tool and went thru it. There's $30 in accessories there alone. I paid at least that much for a Bosch half-moon diamond coated grout scraper thing at HD for my Milwaukee M12 multi-tool. This Nextec unit comes with just about every attachment under the sun - - very few kits include so much.

edit: it also reflects a previous gen multi-tool (17438) and the G2 appears to be the one discussed here as it clearly has the quick release option (30566)

BTW, that light and drill combo looks like it might be tomorrow's "Deal of the Day". When checking the Sears Deal of the Day page, it shows a picture of that combo with a caption stating: "Tomorrow's Deal of the Day coming soon".
I don't know if that means that exact item is one of the items for tomorrow, or if they just use any item picture for example in general. In any case, I'll be checking it out. Not really sure if I really want it, as it is the lower torque drill of the two that they offer.
