Recently I had some ratchets in need of rebuilding and a broken breaker bar.
No local dealers in my area anymore so I called sk customer service and was very pleased with the customer service I received. They shipped out the rebuild kits promptly at no cost to me.

I have lots of SK Tools and havee always had good results with the tools and the company

Yup, they have always been more than willing to send kits at no charge. They even sent me a new plastic case once when one of the latches broke. My only complaint is that when you send something to them for replacement they often have items on backorder.

What I like about them is my auto parts store is an SK dealer, about 1/4 the cost of snappy and they deliver it in short order, no waiting around.

I have a few SK dealers around me, and I have the SK 1/4 socket kit, Which have been perfect. I also have SK line wrench sets, and jumbo wrench's from them, which are very good as well.

They are just as good as snap on, matco, cornwell, etc. etc. etc.

Our nearest welding supply, 30 miles up the road, carries SK as well as Wright. They will do warrenties on all SK stuff.

Is that close to Mooresville? If so I have been there!! Coming back from the 2007 daytona 500 my brother and I stopped by the race shops and we ran across that store.

I have been very pleased with all of my SK tools. I have never had to rebuild or warranty any of them.

I love my SK tools. My first basic set (ratchets/sockets) was my father's originally, so they are at least 40 years old. I don't think I have ever broken one ( maybe one socket, maybe) I do remember the 10 or more Craftsman I have broken. I shorted one SK screwdriver on a battery, they replaced it! I had one box end wrench ( SK Lectrolite vintage) that I used all the time, but the chrome plating had worn off. So about 20 years ago, I asked for a new one and they said they could only replace it if it was broken, He said go home, put the box end in a vise, break it and the we'll replace it. I threw it in a vice, and started cranking, harder and harder, it started deforming a bit and I thought, this thing is going to shatter, it 'll break the window, and knock my eye out. I threw it back in my box and and it still works great today!

It's good to be amongst those who appreciate good tools!

I've had great luck with 1970's era S-K, not so impressed with the build quality of new production items...ratchet heads broached off-center, sloppy finishing, etc. The newer stuff still seems to work just fine, and is sturdy, I just think they feel and look cheap. The finish on my 70's era NOS ratchet is head and shoulders above the finish on my new ratchets.

The store is a CWIS and is located in Sanford, about halfway between here(Southern Pines) and Raleigh. I can get Wright wrenches there for about the same price as Craftsman raised panels.

I've been in Mooresville three times in the last 18 months for gymnastics meets. We were at the same gym each time and several race teams had their shops within 100 yards of it. Nice buildings, perfect lawn care and very, very clean.
