I'm a lifelong toy collector and really needed a space for the overflow that I had in storage. I wanted to get more stuff out so that I could see and enjoy it. I decided that our small one car garage would help to an extent. The garage is about 11'x20' with a 4'x4' cubby. I had previously painted the floor and had an old set of kitchen cabinets in there that would have to come out. There was quite a bit of new drywall and drywall repair that were needed as well. I tore out the cabinets and donated them on Craigslist. Got to work on the drywall, sanding, priming and painting. I still wanted the ability to store a car in there in the winter months so I had to keep it somewhat open. Here are a couple before pics.

I decided on Track lighting to replace the single ceiling bulb. That way I could highlight certain areas. I plan on extended it a bit further as well. I also decided on Racedeck flooring. I used a pattern based on a photo from their website. I had some Heavy metal cabinets that i wanted to hang on the far end of the garage. They are very heavy so I used a 1x2 ledger board underneath and lag screwed everything to the studs. I added shelves that I already had to the wall and cubby area. A couple cases for the Matchbox and Corgi Cars as well.

I added a tv to the wall after I was completed with the drywall repair. I didnt run a cable ahead of time so I'm trying a digital antenna with only fair results. Picked up a fooseball table on Craigslist.

I added a couple bar stools and might add a bar table just to have somewhere to sit.

Very charming space. It's great that you will be able to use it to store your vehicle in the colder months, but still take advantage of it as a play space in the summer. I bet it took quite a bit of time, effort, and cash to amass that collection! I see a few I had as a kid.

Very cool indeed. I guess you don't have a large issue with dust or pollen there to have those displayed out of an enclosed case. I have several items I'd like to display but every spring and summer the pollen and dust is outrageous. I hate that my garage gets covered in it during this time of year so easily.

Nice!

My buddy has the entire fleet of Chevron Trucks with removable Wheels. They sit outside in his back yard rotting away while his kids trash them. His Gma had them in storage since new and unfortunately they are getting abused. I tried to buy them from him but he would not have it.

You have some very cool pieces there. Good show~!

That is pretty darn cool.

Just when I think I have seen it all, I see something new and interesting here.
