I have two tools in my shed that I have no idea what they are used for. So I'm turning to the GJ experts to possibly help me out and shed some light on them for me.







Red Devil plyers that have a sliding piece on one side with measurements marked in inches on it. One end has a small wheel on it.

Not sure about the second one, but the wheel-on-a-stick looks to me like a wheel dresser, for dressing the wheel on a bench grinder.

First one is definitely a grinding wheel dressing tool and I'll agree the second is a glass cutter

Correction on first one ... it is a dressing tool, but not for grinding wheels, it is for buffing wheels. I have no idea on the second one.

No, it is for grinding wheels for sure.

Why would a buffing wheel need a dressing tool? I use a screwdriver for that.

It is still a grinding wheel dresser. There is such a think as a buffing wheel dresser. It looks like a mix between a file card and a scraper. An old worn out but really coarse rasp works just as well.

What you are talking about is called a buffing wheel rake. Used to separate and fluff out the wheel material and compound build up.
