Great job on the vice but why didn't you paint it blue or grey to match your garage? Trying to keep it as it was originally?
That is the harsh reality. Its funny eh, that's the by product of having a garage where you have touched and improved almost everything in your space, when there is something left over it really sticks out.

A classy garage, AND a snap-on vise. The Good Lord has surely smiled upon you. With empowerment like that, there is to be nothing in life that you cannot surmount!
Thanks e-tek. Love your trans am. Who's the gal in your avatar?BLOWN AWAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fanatastic thread - can't believe I missed it. Great before and afters - that was a LOT of work! Great pics of your son too - especially "working" away in there - LOL. You turned a dark, dank, 70's dungeon into a 2020 space-odyssey - just incredible.
I would love to get there with my attached garage....

Thanks. You and another guy were asking how I get the bike onto the table. Well, here is a video I made showing just that. Don't mind my son asking "you sure this gonna work" He is talking about my camera. I told him I was going to make a movie.^
Excellent!!! I was just about to post that you need to paint the legs of the work bench! Glad you did that and the ducting! Looks 100% better now and flows!
Awesome transformation.
How do you get your bike up on the table? Use a ramp?
Thanks,
-Nigel

Those things have been on the to do list for aloooong time. And the pipe! Finally i can sleep hahaha. Well done, i bet your happy to have finally fixed those nagging things.
The color differences your noticing is due to different cameras being used. In hindsight, painting the conduit grey probably would have looked better. But since I had the black paint out already I just slopped it on there not giving it much thought. Why does the lower wall (under the blue stripe) look darker in the first pic (unpainted work bench) than the newer photos? Did you change the lower wall color or just variation in the pics?
I would've painted that flex pipe the same color as the wall, would've made it disappear, by painting it black it stands out more. I figured the goal was to make it less visible under the bench?

is'nt it great to have a lil helper, savour the moment
What an awesome transformation! Got a kick out of seeing the pictures of your helper. Reminded me of myself as a kid!

Great job on this entire build... You do great work!
I'm a recent member to this forum, and I must say your garage transformation is very nice, great job! (And nice vise too!)![]()
Wow. Looks like a high end showroom! What did you do to bring such a nice shine to the floor?
Colour me impressed. A grown man on his hands and knees, polishing his garage floor. Priceless.
I finally painted the wooden cabinet. I kinda wish I would have went with grey, but oh well.

That floor looks GREAT.. I'm just afraid I'd end up ruining it with floor jacks and jack stands.. I do a good deal of wrenching in my garage.

For your colour scheme black was the way to go. If you would have done it grey it would have gotten lost in the look of the wall. I still think it turned out great, and happy you FINALLY did it![]()

Thanks, a lot of guys will put small pieces of plywood or something under the jack stands so the sharp edges won't dig into the floor. Same goes for the floor jack. My garage is more of showroom/ hangout. I also polish and tinker on my bike a bit, but no classic car restorations, welding, engine swaps, etc, take place.
Thanks a lot, I can't wait to see what you do with yours. I hear ya about the gsxr.Looks GREAT man!!!
Between you and Dubber, I no longer will "require" a two car garage when me and my lady finally buy a place!
I think I'll be more than happy with doing something similar to how the two of you guys have done!
And love the shots, of the little dude. My soon to be step son is 4 years old, and LOVES coming out to help me with little projects when I'm working on one of the cars.
Your build also makes me miss my 07 gsxr 600 with all the pics of your bike </3 :'[
The plywood could be an option.. hmm, I'm a bit torn between the RD and Epoxy. But seeing yours, Rick's and Dubber's garage's make me drool. I guess I'm gonna have to create a thread and share the MESS that is my garage with you guys.
I really enjoy reading how you guys moved towards what you've finally come up with. You tried this, messed with something here, found a better/more functional spot there.
Btw, you're NOT using the free flow RD right?
Thanks buddy!Holy ****! I know I've been "outta the office" for quite a while now, but this is smokin hot now. I can't imagine all the work you've put into this. For grins and giggles, go back to your first few posts and really enjoy the fruits of your labor. Seriously. The changes are unbelievable. Outstanding work, man!
Near Effingham, which is about 100 miles East of St. Louis.yaaaaaaa!!! there is actual hope for the itty bitty garage I just got. Derrick where are you at in illinois? I work in Schaumburg and moving to Rolling Ghettos soon.
I don't think paint would stick. Its like a slick wrinkly foil type outer layer. I like how it reflects light well. Thanks for the compliment.Very nice result!
Would the garage door insulation accept paint or is it too smooth or flexible? While the silver suits your garage wonderfully, some (me) would benefit from a little color yet would still like to have the insulation benefits.
Fantastic transformation. I'm seriously inspired. I love the picture of Marquez but where's Rossi?
I just haven't seen any Rossi spreads lately. Come to think of it, I haven't even got any sport riders lately. I bet my subscription is up.
This kid is spoiled rotten... Today was his birthday and he made out like a bandit.
