My next project will be this 34 Ford pickup. I want to make it my daily driver. It should be a pretty simple and quick build compared to the Willys. It will be powered by a Y block Ford engine and 4spd. I have some vintage speed equipment (Berry & Chung) from New Zealand to put on it.

Thanks for that, wish I had one of those catalogs.
In the late 60's American speed equipment was very rare and hard to get in NZ due to high import fees etc so Berry & Chung filled the void. Here are a couple more pics of the truck. I haven't started on it yet. I have been collecting parts for it for several years and due to creative trading and wheeling and dealing it pretty much owes me nothing so far money wise. I don't plan on finishing it to show quality.

Just read your entire thread, what a great place. I'm jealous of a lot of things going on here including skills, knowledge, style, the tools, the stuff, the weather, the cars, the 80's photos........

The 34 looks really clean Kev but you need to take pics of it away from all the stuff in the background as my eyes are working over time looking at all your goodies mate:drool:

If I ever do a vintage style car it will have a Y-block or Ford FE, love my Windsor small blocks but a little too modern looking in an older style car.

I haven't been back to this thread in awhile. What are your plans for the '34? Besides the engine and trans that is. Hood? Fenders? What about the interior, what's in there now?

I haven't started on the truck yet but it will be fenderless and hoodless, maybe a hood top. Interior will be bare bones. I have a newer bench seat for it and a Bell style 4 spoke steering wheel. Also a 5 guage SW guage panel. I am looking forward to starting on it but I have a project to finish first to make room. I don't know the price or availability of those valve covers.

A friend gave me this big arbor press. I think it was part of an auction lot and he had no use for it. I welded a socket to it so I could use a big ratchet for a handle and I begun work on a stand for it to get it up off the ground and make it mobile. Not really sure what I will use it for but I think I will start by making a simple fixture for bending flat bar.

I was very happy to get this Pexto table and variety of drop in anvils. I bought this and 2 other items (hand held English wheel and an old Ansen 2 piece scattershield). Well I sold those 2 items to recover my money and ended up with the anvils for free, yay!

You'll want a hole through the top of your stand so that you can press bearings off shafts and fit other long work under the ram. You'll find lots of uses for that machine. Nice score. Put a lower shelf under there and fill it with heavy stuff like a couple of heads to make the press more stable.

As large as that press is you could make some dies for punching holes in sheet metal Kev. That's a really nice size for a lot of things.

I don't have any new pics to add from my garage so I will add this pic of the tool boards I added to my shop at work. 3/4" plywood anchored to the concrete wall....

I am the welder/fabricator for the County of Ventura fleet services. Been there 11 years. Before that I was self employed building hot rods and drag cars in my back yard shop for 12 years.

I would've never guessed that a county could be that lucky Kev. Most of the time they farm stuff like that out here in Texas.
