I don't use my blast cabinet much but when I do I am always frustrated with the lighting. The specialty bulbs for the cabinet aren't very good and they're a little expensive.
I'm sure some of you have some creative lighting improvements you've made, let's see them please.
Thanks

I bought a HF sandblaster and painted the inside white to help out .. made a difference. I will change the light to something else later on.

I built my blast cabinet and just installed the heads from a light like this on either side

It is plenty of light and was cheap. Since it was designed for outdoors they are sealed fairly well. It does get warm inside the cabinet (helps to keep the sand dry) but can be annoying for long blasting sessions. I just use the cheap $1 bulbs from horror freight.

I installed a pair of inexpensive halogen spot lights in the upper corners of my cabinet. I've used incandescent and florescent lights in the past. The halogen lights are much better.

Is there any reason why you couldn't just put a small florescent in the top of
the cabinet?
That's what I planning to do in mine that I'm building now.

In my experience, fluorescent lights don't put out enough light to cut through the dust, even with a good dust collector in use. I use incandescent spot lamps in my cabinet.
