Mobile base for tire changer ?

After reading in various threads about using mobile machinery bases for things like air compressors, I was wondering if anyone had tried these on other things like tire changers ?

I have a Coats 40-40SA tire changer and while I do use it frequently for a part time business, I would really like to be able to move it out of the way when not in use. It's fairly heavy (just over 500 ibs). This is a center post (long rectangular machine) not a rim clamp changer BTW. I haven't found a mobile base (yet) that seems to fit the machine.

I have my B port mill on a mobile base and the small lathe is on a mobile base

if you can weld you can easily make a base for that

Thanks ! Wish I could weld but I can't. I'll have to find a base somewhere that will fit the machines dimensions and have the "raise/lower" functionality too.

HTC Products will make custom bases for just about anything. They also have universal bases. I have an HTC-3000 universal base under my table saw. The saw is a Delta Contractors Saw with a clone of the Biesemeyer fence with 48" rip capacity. Even with the heavy fence, it is stable. Here is the url for HTC: http://www.htcproductsinc.com/

Thanks, I'll look in to their custom bases, lthey look pretty good.

I see you're in Wheatridge. Do you know Jim, who owns "Million Air" HVAC ? (former neighbor here in NJ)

No, I don't know Jim. Million Air is a cool name for an HVAC business.
