I have this auction starting tonight. Thought it might be to the liking of some of the vintage tool collectors that visit this forum. For details and more pics, follow the Ebay link.

On the GJ parent sire, the Jalopy Journal, ebay links are not allowed. If you post it in the classifieds, it has to be an item thats for sale or trade to the buyers on the site, not an ebay link.

I think the same rule should be considered to cover this classifieds section.

Everyone on this site does have a chance. Most older/vintage tools on Ebay never go for what they are really worth. It seems like everyone shopping on Ebay is looking for something new. Folks here really appreciate (speel check me) the older tools and I consider this a heads up. Besides I would rather see a set like this go to someone that would make sure it was taken care of as well as it has been up untill this point. I can't auction an item here to get a decent price but I have read the rules of this forum and posting this here does not violate any rules. This is a really nice set and although I have no use for it, there is a part of me that would like to keep it. That is why I have a reserve set. I have a plomb 9/32 drive set listed here that is not on Ebay.

I'm sorry if my Ebay link offended some people. I have listed some of my other auctions here and never got any guff. This item in particular I thought might be of special interest to some here.:headscrat

I respect both Krusty and Chad's opinion. Perhaps though, their complaints should be taken to a Host and not added to my thread. <<That's my opinion. This is probably not anybodys biz except mine, but I have noticed an increase in views, ending sales, and interest in any Ebay auctions I have linked here. This in-turn tells me that members of this forum ARE interested. I fail to see the harm:confused: Again, I respect what you have said here and I also respect what you have posted in other areas of this forum.

Using a proper listing title in your auction will increase sales much more than posting here.....

Chad speaks the truth. At the very least the vintage of your set should be in your title not in your subtitle. Subtitles do not show up in search engines. Nice lookin' set.

Well Elroy, the tin itself was very scratched up and had much of the original paint missing. I personally, lightly sandblasted the tin and had it professionally painted by a friend. He took chips of paint from it before I blasted it and looked at pics from old Snap On boxes to match the color the best he could. I honestly believe the tin has been saved by this. As for the tools inside, everything IS virtually un-used and honestly appears to have been sitting in this tin for 60 yrs. Nothing has been "rubbed down or polished up". It really is an awsome sight to open this and see the tools in incredable condition. Nothing is misrepresented. The case has indeed been restored and I feel for it's best interest. Everything inside is like new because (I'm guessing) it has not been used hardly at all and has been packed away inside the tin.

Yep, that's the one. When I first got it I was amazed at how new the tools looked and the tin looked like hell. I posted some pics on another part of this forum and asked opinions about restoring the tin. That was weeks ago. I removed the black handledsocket driver because it could not have originally been a part of the set - the lid didn't close all the way with it in there. I also took out the flexable spring extension because it looks very used and I wanted it for myself.

:lol_hitti nope. $10 more would have had it. I took it to work today and stored it away in my box for my own personal collection. The enviroment is good there as far as temperature changes and humidity are concerned so I know it will stay in great condition for many years to come. I have a few more older sets that are nearly complete, just need a few more items and old metal trays, and those I'll get rid of here. One set is all marked with "E" so it should be 1944??
