needle type torque wrench

Hi

I am looking at buying a low torque, torque wrench for use on my bicycle. Can get a Park tool 0 -7 Nm for a good price. How accurate are these compared to the breakpack style. I have the Gedore breakpack 20 -200 Nm so am only familiar with those

They are just as accurate, maybe more. With the invention of the digital torque wrench (the tech wrench) it shows you how much you are actually torquing. It is interesting to note how even after it beeps, most people still add a little bit more torque than what it is set for... Not much different than the clicker wrenches.

With the beam wrench, you need to watch the needle but I would think that since you are watching something, you can stop where you need to. Calibration is easy. Make sure the needle is set to '0'.

What I am saying is, they are both just as good. The click wrench just made it quicker and easier to torque.

I have an old cornwell 5-100 in lb that has always done me right, I have done a few pinion bearings with it and it has yet to be proven inaccurate. I bought it used too, not sure how old it is.

I think I picked this up from my dad but after mine clicks I will click it again a few times "just to be sure". I don't really know why I do it but I do.
