I bought this off Craigslist for $25 the other day. Goes well with my Blackhawk SJ-25.

Anyone have any service info, period advertisements, owner's manuals, etc. on this? I can't find much of anything online. There's a label on the ram that says "55" and Pa___r - Pacer, possibly?

The guy I bought it from says it bleeds down under a load, so I don't know if it just needs fluid, a rebuild, or what. :dunno:

Thanks a lot!

Not to send this tread off it's trail, but could you give an example of where a "bumper jack" would be used? I have seen them for super cheap over the years, but all the seasoned guys warn me to stay away from them. :dunno:

As there name implies they where more popular back when vehicles had actual steel bolt on bumpers/full frames they are still pretty common in bus barns etc.. Albeit at higher tonnage ratings and normally air powered.

Yea, I more so wondering how useful they were on moden day cars. Especially unibodies. I have seen them go CHEAP, but could never figure out a safe way to use them on modern cars. I doubt if the plastic encased styrofoam bumpers would be good for jacking on. :shocking:

I'm gathering this neat old-school gas station type stuff for my yet-to-be-built retro garage.

And, my Chevelle has "real" bumpers, so they just might come in handy. :D

You might want to be careful, even with the Chevelle; even those bumpers were more decorative than just brute strength.

These can still be useful, but only if you have a 4x4 with the aftermarket tube bumpers. We used to use one a buddy had 20+ years ago, but we had made 3" pipe bumpers for his 59 ford PU (Converted to 4X4)

If the pickup points are low enough, and spaced exactly right, it might work for lifting one side if a more modern car, but even that has limited usefulness.

Thanks, Outlaw - I plan to be careful. I think I can find other uses for the bumper jacks if they can't be used as they were intended - if nothing else, they are cool garage art.

I may croak before this garage gets built, anyway. :lol_hitti :(

Gentlemen,
I have the exact same jack & was needing the same info as B17E1943. Service info, owners manual, etc.
I know this is an old thread but if anyone can assist with helping me it would be appreciated as I bought this jack at a garage sale & need to know how to operate it correctly.

Thanks Hiball for the part numbers. Anything on how to service, operate the jack as it is leaking fluid.

Are these lifts really something to consider for a full size? I found one locally and my E350 needs a better jack.

Hein Werner made great stuff., but the design kind of looks sketch :scared:

Is there a design flaw?

For an E350, yeah, it's "sketchy"; It's 1-1/2 ton lift. What does your E350 weigh? :wtf:

A buddy had one 25 + years ago, and for a '59 F100 half ton, it was fine.

Its over 6000 lbs with a 6bt conversion.

I'm goin nuts trying to find a decent floor jack or method to lift the van. All the jacks are Chinese disposable's unless you get a Milwaukee or AC
