What to buy from Sears

I have a SYWR offer expiring today where I buy something $30 or more and apply my current SYWR balance ($0.27) to the purchase and $15 worth of points will automatically be added to the purchase. So since I can essentially get 50% off I am wondering if there is anything I should add to my tool collection. Any hot deals or must haves? I have the Cman Pro pry bars and a good amount of tools already so I would be looking at more uncommon or obscure tools I guess.

Getting close to running out of ideas at Sears. Their wrenches and sockets are now junk (not even impressed with the premium ratchet).

Bought the shovel for things the prybar and chisel wont seperate, will just dig a hole for it.

Only us made things that you know you wont break. Thats all I buy from there now. Wrenches and such, if you break them it will be because you got a lot of use out of it.

Pretty decent? How about the best and most affordable hose I've found! 19.99 on sale and has a lifetime warranty just like tools. Ours hasn't kinked yet which was the main reason for getting an all rubber one.

What do you need right now? Unfortunately it looks like common deal items are not on sale at this time (pry bar set, deep impact sockets, mostly china now).
Maybe a few filler for wrenches/sockets that you need?

Their strap wrenches are nice, but only ~$10 IIRC for the set.

Snap ring pliers?

Kinda hard to say without knowing what you NEED.

If you are thinking about lesser used tools and you are in the market, the craftsman 2 jaw pullers, steering wheel puller, and harmonic balancer puller are all still US made (by western forge) and are very nice especially for the price. They also never really go on sale (except a couple bucks off every once-in-a-while), so they are good items to use that type of a deal for.

Yes it has to be tools. Already have the Garden hose as well. I really don't NEED anything, but I have store credit and the only thing I buy at Sears is tools. I will look at the pullers and the gasket scrapers.

Not to knock Sears, but I had $20 in freebie store-wide rewards cards getting ready to expire there recently. I walked around for 45 minutes but nothing really jumped out so I gave them to her for clothes. Points w/her are worth far more than anything else I wouldve gone home with. Admittedly, Im beyond needing common tools and more into specialty items.

I was at my local sears store yesterday, I exchanged a 5/8 1/2" drive deep socket that I have had for 35 years, used it on the impact too many times and stripped it. They gave me a 6 point (mine was 12 point) made in USA replacement. I also picked up a set of 1/4 drive metric shallow sockets also made in USA. No complaints here.

Vaughn makes some Craftsman hammers. I have this vaughn made #38061 and its one of my most used.
Also like the Craftsman Hook & Pick set #47077 and the Pro 3pc pry bar set (I see you already know that though)

Now that you mention it, you are right in that they almost never have their pullers on sale and if they do, it is very little discount.

I ended up getting the retreading set and a 1" gasket scraper. My dad has a retreading set but this will keep me from needing to borrow his. And I hardly use gasket scrapers but figured it would be good to have on hand. The 1" size seemed like the middle of the road. I still have $120 on gift cards to spend and nothing really comes to mind. Nearly all sockets and extensions are now China. There were basically only single stock sockets left USA made. I was going to pick up a 27mm 1/2" drive 12pt for my set but the détente were literally nonexistent. You gold see where they were supposed to be but they weren't cut away and the socket literally pulled off the end of the ratchet with ease. Both 27mm sockets they had did this, I didn't check other sizes.

Yes, the thread chaser set is very nice and made by Kastar/Lang, though I don't believe there is technically a Kastar anymore. A member of the Lang family commented on one of our threads a few months back and stated that they were going to do away with the Kastar brand and all products would be branded Lang going forward.

The jaw pullers and balancer pullers are still USA made by WF. The steering wheel pullers are Taiwan made now. They still seem pretty nice for the money, but the package said MADE IN TAIWAN when I bought mine about 6-8 months ago.

Sorry, I'm on a mobile device tonight and the links I post from it never work. Google "Craftsman 7 ton puller set" for the large 2 jaw set or "Craftsman 5 ton puller set for the smaller 2/3 jaw set. They are very nice for the money.
