Here's something I'll bet you've never seen. I picked this up today, Williams clicker torque wrench, S57... and it ratchets and clicks just fine!

Alright, here are last weeks picks: Cornwell 7/8 angel, Klein Japan pliers, Proto hose clamp pliers, Starrett tap handle, Wright /4 rhft, Plomb spinner, Craftsman crown boring bits, Wrap-a-Round measure, Proto long caulker, Plvmb chisel, misc wire stripers.

Not a garage sale/swapmeet find, but a early Benjamin 137 airpistol I got of Gunbroker. $16 nor including the air pistol.

Sweet pistol. Does it work as is or need seals?

that's a nice Benjamin, with the wood pump handle, it looks to be somewhat vintage. Is the receiver metal or plastic?

It should be all metal. 0.177 cal, pump, bolt "action". Pretty similar to their modern pistols. I don't remember when they were made exactly, I think starting in the late 40's til late 70's, but don't quote me on that. They are a nice heavy piece of air pistol history.

Still waiting on your video of you wielding your 600's. :lol_hitti

Here's my score from last Saturday. It's taken me until today to clean it all up. A (military?) 06789-W-2 1/2" drive offset breaker missing the ball detent in the straight end; an Acme stamped wrench; a Plomb WF-20 3/8" flex breaker; two 3/8" drive 5" extensions, a Plomb WF-17 and a Williams B-110; a 1945 "G" code Snap On F-70N Ferret 3/8" ratchet; a Plomb WF-21 3/8" ratchet; some loose drill bits; some tiny mill flutes?; and some 12 point 3/8" and 1/2" sockets, Plombs, Snap Ons, Wright Armstrongs, and one Cornwall. All of these for $10 in a cigar box (not pic-worthy was a shiney unused masonry bit that looks like it will break if I look at it too hard and two new Irwin bits).

I cleaned the extensions and the Plomb 3/8" breaker by spinning them in an adapter in my drill with finer and finer wet/dry sandpaper and then steel wool with lots of WD40. The Plomb breaker has a 3/8" female square drive in the end so I could spin it too. The S/O ratchet was in good shape, minor degunking only. The Plomb ratchet took a molasses soak, a short vinegar soak, then atf. The mechanism was good but the handle and head were a little rusty and gunked up. I think the vinegar darkened it some but that doesn't look bad.

Alloy Artifacts says the Plomb WF series was gubmint contract WWII era, as was the G code S/O ratchet. I guess when the NSA reads this Uncle Sam will want his stuff back!

Outlaw, the frame is brass, and the grips wood. It had just been resealed, and only needs a rear sight adjustment screw. This one had no serial #, so before '52 I think.

Yes ,The Original Leatherman.Ha Ha
The Leather Case Is Very Fragile.
I Need To find A Way To Preserve It
So It Doesn't Rip

That is VERY cool. You put my weekly Leatherman finds to shame.
To preserve the leather, go get yourself a bottle of Neatsfoot oil/compound. It's not acidic and won't stink like mink oil. In fact, I used it on a find I will post later from this last weekend (An unissued 40 yr. old pair of combat boots. Dried out and dirty from storage, light saddle soap and Neatsfoot, better than new). I swear by the stuff.

Those tools look great! Nice work.

From one sale this morning.

IMG_5498.JPG

4x 36" Jorgensen I-Beam clamps
Weller soldering gun
Nicholson file
Cornwell 1/2 ratchet
2x Snap-On ratcheting wrenches
Channellock linesmans
Smallest pipe wrench I've ever seen, it's a craftsman.

They had a rockwell looking drill press with a montgomery wards motor on it but I didn't need one at the price they were asking.

OK I got the parts for the "new" 600 ordered plus seal kits for both and a seal kit and one part for a pump 1377 similar to bmwrd0's pump, only newer and longer barrel-wise. (also has a shoulder stock but is in fact a pistol)

a seal kit and one part for a pump 1377

Nice, I got one or two of them around here as well. :lol_hitti What are the specs on yours? Both of mine I got real cheap cause I wanted to mod them. One has been converted to .22 (1322 equivalent) and puts out ~800fps with a 15gr pellet on ~14 pumps. Soda cans don't stand a chance.

Although I really like the 600 and would love to own one; I would have to convert it to bulk feed. Those little co2 cartridges are just to expensive and a pain for back yard plinking. IMHO. Hence my preference to the pump pistols, but I still think it would be fun to have a semiauto pellet pistol.

I really need to get back into air power. Especially since the semi recent ammo scare. I use to be pretty heavy into custom air guns. Who did you order your seals through? Are you on the crossman forums? There are some folks on there with some really nicly decked out 600's and 13xx's.

We should start a air gun thread.

Sweet, mind if I ask what it set you back? I have heard of people getting deals on GB, but never seen it in person. :( :willy_nil Especially when you start adding in FFL's and what not.

zkling, I spent a bit of coin, $80. But I had been looking for a vintage one for a while, and that one fit the bill, and it really isn't much. Haven't had much time to play with it yet, as it's the silly season for us at work right now.

And no, I'm not on the airgun forums... (Like I need another place to burn time on the internt! )

True that. I have been spending way too much time on here recently :yikes:
Haven't been on my other regular forums in a while.

I really don't think that is bad at all for a solid vintage gun, recently resealed that will more than likely provide a lifetime of service. A new one is around if not more than that and no where near the build quality.

Not garage sale this time, but remote bid auction in NJ. Only two items: a box of integral shank morse taper drills, assorted sizes (that's a six inch scale on top for reference).

gare2e2a.jpg

And a really nice hold down set. Unfortunately, too big for me to use, even on the Bridgeport mill. The threads are big, 5/8"-11.

zkling, I though it was about right myself, especially after pricing new ones.

Yea, I would be happy with that, especially since it has been recently sealed. Sadly $80 don't buy much these days. IIRC crosman re introduced their 1322 late last year. I kinda wanted one to toy with, but didn't really need it, couldn't justify it especially after handling one. So much plastic. I think those are ~$70 now. :(

Here is what I picked up today at lunch. One estate sale that had a garage full of pro mechanic tools. However, I got there 2 hours after the start and most was gone. Had to do some digging and here is what I found for $5. They were selling things by the container full at great prices. Wish I had been there earlier.

Snap on - not sure what the air chisel tools are used for.

Brown and Sharpe and other stuff

And a few more things - was actually running low on sand paper, so it was good timing to find several new packs.

The small saw is one I've never seen before. Cylinder hone will come in handy.

After seeing what some of you guys are able to find, the yard sales around here **** ***! Its all just old baby clothes, B.S. little knick knacks, and old 80's and 90's crappy electronics. Good tool sales are very few and far between. Its starting to burn me out of even going to garage sales.

You have some good swap meets though try those. I got a map of my area and highlighted all the older neighborhoods. Then I compare that to those listed on yardsaletreasuremap.com Old tools are found at older homes with yard sales!

You guys will have to tell me how good/bad I did today. I only scored at one sale but I think I did OK. So far I have only rough sorted but am happy enough with the results. There were a bunch of sockets and I was just round the corner from HF so I popped in and bought some trays to help with sorting.

I asked about the sockets and got a price for the tray full, then I asked about the Craftsman box and he put the tray in the box and asked for and additional $5. The tray belonged there in any case so it turned out to be a good move for me.

So I rough sorted and did my best to fill the trays. There were very few metric, which I use most but "Oh Well". Mostly Craftsman and I will have more questions about them elsewhere. Sorted out the trash and non USA COO. Among the US stuff I found a few SO, Proto, Plvmb, SK, Williams, Blackstone, Stanley Pro, Cornwell, Ridgid, Sparta, Indestro, Husky and Bonney. I don't know about all of these but recognize some quality names there. Five of the sockets were Impact sockets also. Then I sorted the box. Not really the mother lode but still worth it to me. There are a few good wrenches but most are going right back into my next sale. There were also a few tools that still need cleaning and sorting, so I have no clue how good/bad they are yet. So here are some pictures.

Stick with it, it's been before mother's day since I had a good weekend. Fall is good, it's hot as hell right now here.

I see lots of those too (I don't stop unless I see "Junk" boxes...). do you do any pre-planning or juts cruse? The latter will be frustrating anywhere...

Craptain, You got some decent stuff, but you never really said what you paid, so no clue "how you did..."

Bottom line are YOU happy?
