I've heard a lot of good things about sunex lately and need to buy a new set of combos for serious home shop use. How do these stand up?

im curious also. bump.

I've been finding little bits of info here and there about sunex. Mostly talk about their impact sockets. Their combo wrenches look very similar to hf with the open ended "v". I guess i'd just have to order the set and evaluate the quality. One thing I like though is that the offer a set from 8mm to 32mm. No skips!

Here are some pics of stubby combo wrenches I took at a swap meet a while ago.

I can't say if all the combo wrenches are the same quality level as these. If memory serves, these wrenches weren't as nicely finished as they look in the pics. I believe I wasn't impressed with the quality of the polishing.

But, I'm just going off memory, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

I tried the HF wrenches in the store and the beams were completely square; they didn't make any attempt at all to round them off.

Yes, they do look quite painful to use. Also, many of them look bent like they had been used as a flat bar. And that's new on the shelf!

Those dewalts look very nice but I'm really looking for a set with sizes above 19mm.

going off just your pictures, i would have taken the plunge to check them out. they look damn good if the price is right.

on that note, with you saying they were lack luster in person, i hate when that happens. things can look so damn good in a picture, then in person be full of flaws.

anyone out there have any sunex polished wrenches of any design they can share? i have the crowfoot flares, and they are useable, but not great. chrome looks good though. have only used them a few times on PS lines and such, nothing overly corroded or tight, so i cant yet make a full judgement.

I have the offset double box end wrenches I picked up this weekend. I've been impressed with them, like others have said the finish isn't awesome but they don't bend when applying torque. I've put a lot on them and i'm 6ft 1'' and 340 lbs.
