I was cleaning one of the garages on the property and found this old gas street light and I was thinking about converting it to electric and putting it outside my back door. Is this hard to do? Any tips or ideas would be appreciated..ill try to get pics up soon

It's impossible and also very dangerous...

Best bet would be to box it up carefully and ship it to me for safe disposal!! ;)

How old is old?
In the 1950's they would install them at the curb and they ran 24/7/365.
This in subdivisions without street lights.
Gas was cheaper than electric.

Unfortunately, I like dangerous..lol what are the safety issues with leaving it gas? I don't have to worry about the city of Chicago saying anything because I live in a cemetery on private property and it will be in my back yard which is very secluded. My house was built when the cemetery started in the 1880s...no idea how old the lamp is, and I haven't figured out how to post pics from my phone yet...
