I think V58 would be the code for the key.
On that large lock w/o key, I've got people that can impression keys, just need the right blank. If you want, send to me and I can mail it with some other locks I've got that need keys made!

Today was flea market sunday and there were plenty of goodies that followed me home this morning.
My first stop, a favorite vendor, yielded me this "project" Reed 2C that i will whip into shape pretty soon. I also grabbed the snap on wrenches, Penens ratchet and Snap on 1/4" ratchet for under 100.00
The pile of Plomb stuff came from a number of other vendors, including one that was only setting out a little bit of what he had. I'm going to try to work out a deal with him and see if i can get into his storage unit and see what else he has. His pile had the Wilpen wrench, early 1930s DBE, Offset speed wrench, short extension, P&C 3/4" drive socket and a Starrett wire gauge.
THe real odd ball tool is the muffler removal tool i found in a small box of other tools. Its marked A P Muffler Removal Tool 8737, Des Pat 138737 Other Patents Pending.
I'm pretty sure its an Alphonse Plomb but couldn't find anything to back it up. Any thoughts?

No garage sales in the area this Sunday, but it was another great day at the flea market. Got the following:
1 large Craftsman combo wrench, size 1-1/16, for $5.50
1 small adjustable wrench, USA but no brand
6 mixed wrenches - 2 Proto, 1 Proto Los Angeles, 1 Plomb, 1 MAC, and 1 Fairmount
1 Craftsman ReFlex adjustable wrench, $6
and the buy of the day:
A vintage "Piston Seal" motor oil can, empty (unfortunately) for $1. Anyone familiar with this brand? Address on it is Clifton Forge, VA, not too far from here. Search on eBay yielded only one result, an oil can from the same company but different design, for $100. !!!
also: the Fairmount wrench is a #25. This is the 2nd wrench in two days that I saved at the flea market that is confirmed part of the WWII Willys Jeep tool kit (a complete wrench set would include a 723, 25, 27-C, 28-S, and a 731A). I got a 25 today, and a 731A yesterday. Lotsa history in those tool bins!

Sparse weekend this week. No yard sales, so I went to 2 flea markets. Dismal.
I spent $30 (more than I wanted, but I'm ok with it)
$10 for the cheap Made in China rolling seat.
$20 for the 53' 12/3 SJ cable with plugs.
Or, as I prefer to think of it - 57¢ a foot for the x-cord+plugs and a free knee saver for when I'm working on the riding mowers.
I spent $30 (more than I wanted, but I'm ok with it)

I have a slightly newer, slightly more modern one. and am debating restoring it. Your decal is awesome, mine is not so good (its also different) because someone welded a lock hasp to it.

Picked up a FAMCO 1 ton arbor press, $25. Definitely wasn't looking for one, but the price was decent enough and we didn't find what my wife was looking for.

That is really interesting. Definitely a sweet box for $30, I'm kinda suprised no one wanted to buy the box with the tools. Glad you got it though
Would someone mind explaining to me (plomb ignorant) why they stamped a "O" instead of the typical closed top "V" onto the box, yet used the closed top "V" on the label?

no clue 
i'm not a "collector" by any means, but i really had a hard time walking away from this one.
it's rare that i spend that much money, on any one thing, especially at a flea mkt.
most of my tool finds come from a couple of local pawn shops or a "junk" flea mkt thats kinda close to some really "bad" areas. $1-$5 is about my limit on any single item

Timing and contracts. Plvmb had those boxes made for them (at least some (Rollers) were made by Pressteel), and then when they transition it would cost more to have that changed, or possibly the die sets they used to emboss/stamp the labels in would be fairly standard fonts. I have a Pressteel roller, and the fonts looks the same to me

Got my only GREAT garagesale of the year the other day. Old Automotive tech was being put in a home so his kids were selling off all his stuff. I got there real late and couldn't get alot. But what I did was awesome
Full set of Snap on OEX wrenches (up to 1 1/16 I believe), great condition other than some chrome flaking on a couple.
Snap on 20t, F710-A ratchet, needs rebuild as the select lever is broke, date code came up as 1958.
Pair of williams 1515 retaining ring pliers. Perfect shape IMO.
Pair of ETF pliers, pretty big pliers could be useful.
And a Klein Tools screwdriver tray. I love this, its like 2ft, by 10", now to find a place to put it.
All for $45.
Will take some pics tommorrow as I was busy and never had a camera.

Got a aluminum 6 roller that pivot car dolly that they wheeled around NASCAR chassis for 15 bucks from a old Hendrick racing employee will post pics soon also a speed bag like in the rocky movie w wear for a dollar and a commercial pull behind spreader that holds 200 lbs for…wAit for it… 1 dollar!!!

Found an interesting wrench today in a thrift store junk bin for 50 cents. It's seen its better days, but the logo is still readable. Unless I'm mistaken its a JH Williams (Brooklyn - it has the oval ID stamp that reads: J.H.W. &Co. and U.S.A. with a diamond H logo between the two) special purpose wrench made between 1914 and 1924. It has an industry standard number (761) with a "Y" under it, a diamond H logo on the shank, and "special" stamped on it. Probably a factory wrench for a special purpose machine, but I'm just guessing now. Anyone know more that that?
