any idea what the orginal color was?

the inside seems to be green,
the outside looks more like a crinkled brown :headscrat

looks to possibly be from the 30's

What a cool score.
And yes crewchief You ****!

What is it about Plomb , that to me is almost mesmerizing?

Really , someone should write a book "Zen and the art of Plomb".

I picked one up for $20 in better shape last Thanks Giving. I gave it to a member on here and I paid the $31 freight to ship it to him. I found another one a month ago for even less money. One in very good condition just sold for about $225 on E bay.
The ****** box is useless for tool storage. I know there are a lot of Plumb Collectors out there but I have yet to figure out why anyone would want to collect old ugly tools. LOL I love selling them and glad people collect. LOL
Nice find by the way but it is really a ****** useless box!

YOU ****. Thats a rare early box. I would clean it and use it.

i'm gonna dust off the cobwebs, and blow out the dust.

it'll get used for something eventually, not sure what right now.

it may get used for emergency trail truck parts & supplies.
the kennedy cantilever i'm currently using is bursting at the seams.

have to do some "thinkin' drinkin'" and see what i come up with.

Man, I would absolutely LOVE to get a box just like that, and use it to hold tune-up parts for days at the track.
That'd be ideal to put a timing light, carb rebuild parts, spare shifter linkage clips, ignition parts, plugs, etc. in.

If you ever come across one just like that box, please let me know: in the next two years, I am going to be working on a couple different race car projects, and while I've got a kick-*** Montezuma box as my track/roadtrip/junkyard box, I'd love to have that PLVMB box for organizing spare parts and tune-up gear.

i'm thinkin' it's probably gonna end up as a spare parts box.
or possibly use it for fabrication tools & supplies if/when i end up doing fabrication and welding away from my garage.

looks like i'll be doing some more of that very soon on an upcoming s-10 P.U. project for a friend of mine

i have a spare vintage CM top box that i can load up with enough tools (that i can barely pick it up) for those times i do go wheeling, or need to haul tools.
