General cleanup and moved some scrap wood that was stacked over by the swamp cooler. Killed 6-8 black widows.I hate those SOBs.

Added a flag, and yesterday I picked up a mid-90's Craftsman Table saw that had only been used a couple times for $100. Not bad.

It's a huge mess since I just moved in to my new house this weekend.

Transferred some old oil from the drain pan (where it's been sitting for 4 months) to a gallon jug for disposal. Moved 5 vises & put my tools away.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Over the last few nights I have been performing an engine swap in a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3 engine. The owners kid didn't check the oil in a while and ran it low on oil. I asked him how low it was, the owner told me "about 5 quarts". It only holds five quarts.

It wasn't cost beneficial for me to rebuild it as I was able to get a good deal on a remanned engine from my local NAPA store, so I picked it up yesterday and hopefully tonight I can install all of the sheet metal, manifold, water pump and get ready to install it.

This is one of those jobs I will be glad to see out of the shop. What a mess, the owner doesn't perform any preventive maintenance and sure isn't doing the kid any favors by not instructing him to check and maintain things.

Hey Mike, at least his dad made the right decision to hire you for the job. You can make a thousand off of one customer once, or make $100 a thousand times off one customer and all his happy friends he refers to you. :D

Good point. I won't get rich off of this job as it is a PITA but it is better than nothing. Hopefully maybe a few of his friends will need work.

Media blasted, primed and painted some old scroll brackets I picked up at a yard sale for two bucks, cut and routered a 36 inch 2x12 and got it primed and painted. Mounted it sunday night. Primed and painted the door frames on the shop that have needed it for two years.

:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti Thank you, I just spit water all over the keyboard. IDK why, but that is just too funny to me.

Reminds me of some of the cars I see on the weekend, pull the drain plug and about a CUP of oil comes out.

Started to replace the trailer wiring on my truck, realised I needed some **** connectors, felt I needed better crimpers to do a good job. Ended up with Channellocks on sale for $22.

I opened the door and took a look around at the disorganization. Then I contemplated my plans for putting everything right.

After my new Snap-on tools arrived, I fondled them for a few minutes and returned to the garage to put them away. Now I'm reminded that I need more tool storage.

Building a planting workbench for the lovely wifey. White porcelain cast iron sink from 1953. The top is the old redwood picknick table from her dad's backyard. Base is rough sawn construction grade redwood fencing material.

That looks like a great workbench for her! I love seeing old re-purposed wood tops like that. I have plans to use some re-purposed wood for a countertop in the laundry room for my wife.

Finished up working on a part on the lathe, decided to clean it up a little. Vacuumed the chips up, wiped down the oil splatters, and ended up waxing it. It helps to keep dust and such from sticking. Also if you never clean up, you end up with caked on oil and crud which I absolutely despise.

I'm with you zkling! That was one of the funniest (and saddest) things I've read in awhile.

Thanks. You have to keep things on the lighter side or you will go crazy.

I've been working on installing A/C in my 65 Mustang fastback. Also fixed the parking brake lever. The car should be back on the road soon.

Stained the workbench and the top for it. Going to start putting the sealer on tomorrow morning.

The light spots on the bench top were fixed after the picture was taken.

Swapped out the motor mounts and trans mount on the RT/10.

They didn't look that bad...but I figured it may help the very difficult oil filter removal on the 96 RT. (They are unique) I figured they may have sagged over the years. Wasn't as difficult as I expected.

Glass Bead Blasted the Cobra intake, valve covers, and oval air cleaner for the 289 in a 65 Mustang convertible I'm doing.

Now they are in the dishwasher for a final rinse...the cycle should be finished before the wife gets home :scared:

While it wasn't IN the garage, it was with garage tools.....

Started cutting the 12x12x1/4" steel plate with my vertical band saw and found out I can only cut about 4" in because the plate hits. I'm going to have to finish that cut with a reciprocating saw.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Today, I installed 10 soffit vents. This ol' garage had none.

Tomorrow, gable vent with fan.

Temperature permitting of course.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Finished welding on and fabricating brackets and mounts (some not pictured), cleaned up and got on the first coat of paint. Man, does the tremclad brush on ******. The test stand serves no purpose to be pretty but I'm not happy about the finish it in the least. I haven't used tremclad brush on in at least a decade, from what I remember it used to self level pretty good. I guess since then they've made it better for the environment.

I performed mower maintenance on a 22" Craftsman self propelled. Replaced drive belt, air cleaner, spark plug, cleaned fuel line, changed oil and cleaned underside. My 12 year old daughter wanted to learn about mechanics so she helped me with everything and did much of it herself.

I'd venture to say that you had to bend in ways that you haven't had to ben in a while

Now's the time to get out the game of Twister and show them who rules:rocker:
