I tried to order one twice and each time before I made the selection it said Free Shipping. Then when it was in my basket to check out they wanted $10.50 for shipping plus the salestax that brough my total to $54. I backed out and now looks like that I missed the deal altogether.
And as mentioned above pick up at the store was not a viable option.

It said that it "qualified" for free shipping, after you meet the $59 minimum.

I waited to long looking for a filler to make the minimum and missed it. After a couple days there will be some on eBay for slightly more from folks trying to make a profit. I'll get me a set there I guess.

back to full price but still unavailable. Hopefully this comes around again as most sears deals seem to do.

Maybe not...I got the vibes sears are phasing out those 12v tools. They did the same with 20 v professional lineup went on sale that got people burn their money to buy them and kaboom they vanished. I may be wrong.

It's hard to say. Sears is sending mixed signals but they always do. They've been doing these sales that appear to be blowout pricing on the Nextec stuff for awhile, but they seem to still be marketing the Nextec. Also it's not really a problem if it disappears as long as you have a few batteries. The tools will still likely last you a reasonable time, and if you do kill them it's not a huge loss if you bought them at all the sale prices which come up here. Used to be with ni-cad you really had to worry about batteries if a platform disappeared but I think li-ion has become more reliable.

We all thought Ryobi Tek4 was on it's way out and Ryobi just released a new right angle driver for that line.

Anymore you can get an aftermarket battery for almost anything, online. I haven't personally searched for an aftermarket nextec battery, but it would surprise me if one could not be found.

Anyone else get theirs and notice that the double sided screwdriver/phillips bit that comes with the kit doesn't fit well in either tool? Seems that the balls for the detent on the bit are too far back in the impact that they never catch it. I'll have to check it out with some of my other bits.

Yeah that's what I did shopping around for 20v on my cman pro. It's frustrating but always got luck on finding them.

I tried the bits in 2 of the 3 I ordered (third one is already left at work). The bit did not fit either impact tool. I did not try it in the drill.
It looks like the countersunk hole in the center of the chuck does not allow sufficient depth for the tips of the double ended bits. Standard 1/4" bits fit with some amount of longitudinal slop in them (I estimate 1/8")

I'm not concerned with it for mine for 2 reasons, the first being that double ended 1/4" impact bits I consider to be something of a novelty, and for a second I don't really deal with that much flat tip or phillips anyway. I would think on an impact driver, a 3/16" flat tip would strip out too easy anyway.

That doesn't include the impact driver, but I've already got too many impact drivers.

Maybe I'm imagining things, but that looks like a *different* 12V Nextec drill. Are there two models of this thing?

The sears outlet version is "stronger". Has more torque. I have both and the outlet one does seem stronger. I have a lot of tools from this line and love them.

Doh!
I wasn't tempted to get one when I thought I already had it!

I don't need one, I have an 19.2V drill if I need more power. I got the nextec one for light duty, low-power stuff. A "more power" light duty tool doesn't make sense for me, and yet the inner tool greed is saying, "It's worth it, just for the battery!"

The impact driver fit problem seems to be with their driver bit, more than the driver itself. My regular Philips drivers fit into the impact driver without any problem.

One annoyance, though -- it doesn't have a spring to pop out drivers when you pull back the collar, like my other impact drivers. But then, I bought the set for the drill.

Neither does M12 hex impact driver but the screwdriver ejects them. All non Fuel stuff mind u.

I was really on the fence on getting this and opted not to. I am curious though would thes be good for working around cars? I was wondering if the impact could brake bolts loose or not???

Not if they're any kind of tight. The impact will not break loose 3/8" bolts that are tightened to what I would describe simply as "standard tightness". 5/16" have been iffy, and 1/4" stuff usually breaks loose.

I would say it's good basically for little things one would otherwise use a 1/4" air ratchet for.

Got both kits I ordered. No fuel gage on these tools which is not a real big deal and not out of line for the price or the target market. The plastic sleeved chuck on the drill feels kinda cheap - also not unexpected. Yeah, the provided hex bit is worthless but no reflection on the quality of the tools.

I used the drill to debur 1440 holes on a recent project. Holes were 5/16" dia and I use a 5/8" 90 degree c-sink. It did great, every bit as good as my M12. However on high speed for drilling it doesn't strike me as powerful as the Milwaukee.

Well it's back as a Daily Deal. However, it says "This item is temporarily unavailable for Shipping"
Sears has a very interesting website!

Got one.

Now I'm thinking about the light.

I have had the mechanic style drop light for over a year its flat out awesome. I use it every day(well every night I work third shift). zero complaints its fell hundreds of times only put one bulb in it. Battery life is decent the upgraded battery with LEDs gives quite a bit more run time..

Its the only tool in the line I own and its worth every penny..

Didn't miss them this time. Used those spring clamp pliers someone posted as a filler for the free shipping. I've needed a set for a long time.
