I have one pair, Craftsman reversible that live with my lock rekeying tools. Some of the older knob cylinders used circlips to hold everything together.

For those stupid truarc clips I have other tools!
They do make their own removal tools but they have lots of sizes. I either use the cutouts on my key gauges, a flathead screwdriver, or this tool:

don't know how they will hold up through use but they where cheap and are pretty useful for those small 6 and 8mm clips(yes, they're marked 8-14mm but they work on 6mm too ;)).

Just what's in the home box. All Snap-On/Blue Point except for one Proto, one Waldes Truarc and one 42 year old NIB Waldes Truarc convertible type. Work box has another dozen or so.

I've got this knipex set.

Question: today I replaced my Ford Focus' front wheel bearing and wanted a bigger plier than comes in this kit.
Does Knipex offer a "bigger" snap ring pliers kit?

yes and no, they do offer larger circlip pliers: *clicky!* but not in a "kit" form.
you'll have to make your own kit depending on what you may need. :)

you could also look up Beta's offering too:

this one goes up to 60mm but there are bigger and sturdier ones, like those posted by Olafur a couple years ago:

(hoping he won't mind if i repost his picture here... ;))

I thought Seeger made them?
i don't think so since the ones branded Seeger now seem to be made by Orbis and are not look-alikes of the SAM/Gedore.

I'll have to get mine posted up on this thread tomorrow...
please do, the thread is here for that: get the maximum of member owned circlip pliers pics in one thread! :D

more Beta:

this one is one of my favorite, maybe 30-35 years old, for getting those sneaky little clips out of where they shouldn't be anymore! ;)

Here are mine.

Waldes Truarc on top. Left to right, Blue Point, HF Pittsburgh, SK (made in France by Facom), Seeger, Knipex, SK (ditto), and Hazet.

Not a fan of the the convertible style pliers. Here's a disclaimer: the HF pliers have their place at 1.99 on sale; they're very good for tearing into ratchets and other little stuff. Keep em in the drawer with my detent tool, superlube, and RLL...

Lang used to be called A&E Tools which was probably best known for their KASTAR brand.

Similarly to Milbar, they made those pliers for many different companies...
