Hi there,

I have a new (to me) lift that I want to install in the same location of my old one. The pad bolt patterns are obviously different so what is the safe way to do this? Do i just cut the existing bolts flush to the floor and put in new ones? I know the lift instructions talk about no cracks or seams within a certain distance but I find it hard to believe that garages pour a new pad every time they swap a lift. Help! Thanks.

Might be a good idea to cut out a 3x3 or 4x4 section of the concrete and have that repoured?

Tom, unfortunately, needs to be a lot more concrete to go that route. Otherwise it will pull the new section right out of the old.

Fleixa_ got any more details on the epoxy or where to get it?

sberry, that would be great if it'll work

Has anyone done this themselves before?

Right or wrong I just did this at work . The new lift is just shifted over a few inches to put a little distance between old and new holes. Both of our were forward brand with ten years between them, holy **** they have cheapened them up. The new one is a flimsy ************* compared to old one.

Mohawk instruction manual says no closer than 6" to any concrete disturbance. I have to assume that holes would fall within that category.

AVC, that is great! Going from an old weaver narrow bay to a Mohawk 9k lb. The new holes will definitely be away from the old ones.

A System 1A? I just finished drilling holes and standing up mine this evening. Tomorrow I am going to tackle assembly and hopefully running the hydraulic lines. I need to take ~12" out of the vertical hydraulic lines. I'm not sure how I am going to reflare them...

With the Mohawk it wont be an issue.

Interestingly enough I was at a shop this morning where they pulled out a 30 year old cable lift to install a 20 year old Mohawk.

They placed the Mohawk right over the old spot and just drilled new holes.

:dunno:
