Lithonia Lighting 2-Light Flush-Mount T8 - Stupid Questoins

So I picked up 6 of these 2 bulb lights (L 2 32 120 GESB) and 2 of the Tandem 8' 4 bulb lights (TL 2 32 120 1/4 GEB SCD) the other day from Home Depot and started installing them.

I've read the threads about the RF problems and will be calling the ballast mfg next week if they do cause issues since they have the RC ballast installed.

I have 2 stupid questions about these lights though.

#1 - What the heck are these 2 pieces for?

#2 - The reflectors for the 8' tandem lights are about an inch and a half short for installing in the holes like the 4' lights. The boxes were open when I bought them and retaped shut. Do I have the wrong reflectors or am I just looking at them wrong?

They connect the sections of reflectors together if run in continuous rows, they "just" snap on.

That's kind of what I was thinking but was over thinking it.

What about the 8' lights? Short reflectors or just to stupid to put together a simple light?
