Amazing . Maybe the best deal I have ever seen. My local pawn shop would have had $200 on that. No joke  Are you a frequent customer or something to be able to get it THAT low? :dunno:

I stop there about every other week in the summer. Don't buy much but they alway treat me good. I was suprised also, I just wanted to look through the sockets and he said make me an offer on all of it.[/QUOTE]

That 3 drawer bottom looks like a Cman homeowner box. I have two of them. one gray and black and the other is red and gray with the Cman Homeowner tag on it. Could be another brand though as I have seen this box under various names.

Great finds

Some Cman metric's, a set of Matco SAE's, Cornwell 1/4dr set, a light-weight rawhide hammer and a couple of wrenches. The stubbys are chicom and what I really wanted were the little wrench racks but I'll still be able to sell the wrenches to cover costs

Pickings here have been light except for the 2 dollars total I spent on a nice Snap On ratcheting screwdriver (was looking for one and I love it), and a Starrett precision screwdriver set. Then today spent $5 on a set of craftsman -v- 1/4 drive sockets in case with a 1/4 breaker bar, also spent $10 for a mostly complete 25 piece vintage wright tools 3/8 drive mechanic set. More than I felt comfy with spending at the time but feel good about it now.

We will see what tomorrow will hold.

Edit- Forgot to add pics

Starrett Jewelers Screwdrivers - (.025"---0-1 Phillips) - $1

Snap On Ratcheting Driver - $1

Early start on the weekend sales, $8 not the deal of the century but I had to drive about 30 miles round trip so I had to bring home something.

This has been a lousy two days for a garage sale. I don't know if it's because of the kids going back to school or what. I'm having a sale with seven 6' tables, packed with nothing but mechanic's tools. Both yesterday and today I was open for an hour before the first customer showed up and probably had no more than 30 people stop either day. When I go to sales I normally I see guys knocking each other over to be the first in the garage. It is listed in the news paper as well as Craigslist. One guy did drive about 50 minutes for something he saw on Craigslist. My prices are not out of line [but I don't have Firestone and C'man sets for $8.00 ]. Thursday is the big day here but I'm hoping that Saturday will prove the big one for me. It's very frustrating.

Damn, you guys keep scoring! I stopped at a Friday sale (only one open past even 1... WAY before quitting time for me...), and got skunked again. A few tools but pure garbage...

Hit two auctions between last sat. and today. The first one was a HUGE tool sale with 85% being Snap-on so the sharks had circled weeks before. Apparently there was some guy from one of the lesser known auction/storage shows on cable TV. He didn't have a film crew, but they were acting like he was some sort of celebrity. To me, he couldn't price a tool no more than I can weave a basket. Needless to say the prices were in most cases more than ebay, but I did manage to grab a few items for pretty good money. Most of them were for resale since snap-on is too rich for my blood.

Here's pics of the first lot last Sat.

I paid $82 total for that lot, but I also got a cool Filko shop cabinet with the rare lower doors. I dropped that off at my dad's shop, but will snap a few pics on Sunday. That was the one I was stoked about. Only paid $12 for it to boot:rocker:.

The second group was from today. Not much at the auction, but I did score my first Baldor bench grinder:beer:!! Though it's a little guy it was complete and only $30. The vise went for $6 which I couldn't pass on. The clocks were $12 for the lot which I was also extremely pleased about. I think one is for the garage and the other for the house(GE's). That's of course the old lady gives the  :willy_nil!!

You guys have gotten some amazing deals! Garage sales have been scarce here and most are just clothes.

Found one big *** columbian vise but it had been outside for years and was rusted so badly not a single part moved at all. Not even the handle would slide back and forth. Guy had it priced at 95 bucks:eek:

Hoping tomorrow brings some better luck.

Sent via carrier pigeon.

Struck out this morning, as per usual. Tool sales are about non-existent around here. Did find a decent one here: http://moncton.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-...alore-Sat-9-5-1531-elmwood-W0QQAdIdZ516493966 that looked really promising and there was some cool stuff but it was way overpriced.

I did leave behind a nice incomplete Craftsman 1/4" drive set and a very old Craftsman 3/8" drive t-handle that I'll go back to see for next week or in 2 weeks when they open again. Some nice wrenches too that I'll try and bundle together. Few decent old Kreauter pliers but he was selling them 7-10$ each and a lot of nice 3/4" drive sockets and ratchets, including a Snap-On t-handle but I'll likely never have a use for.

Guy also is selling a nice Ford army truck if anyone is interested :p http://moncton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1942-British-Ford-army-truck-W0QQAdIdZ498995278

Place was really interesting though, part of an old airport and I overheard the man's wife saying that they were cleaning out the outbuildings as they sell stuff in the one building the sale is in. Next time I go I'll ask about toolbox's and stuff as that's what I was looking for.
