Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum been lurking for couple months thought I'd post my new project. Just moved to a different home with a one car attached and why to much junk to go in it, so it's time to expand
The plain is to get the outside shell and floor done this year, then the electrical and heating later. Pic's of it going up

Damn that's way cool. I like the color change, it really helps break down the height. They'd never allow that type of construction where I'm at.

Thanks guys. I'm getting excided to get it done myself, took the crew of 5 guys 4 days to get it were its at now. Got 50ton of roadpack delivered today hope it enough to level it out. The way I got around some of the building code here is it's going to be attached to the house with a breezeway when done.

So does that mean you'll have a man door on new shop across from the man door on house??

Nice looking shop. I like the two-color metal siding. Keep pics coming.

^x2.

If I lived in a place that would permit a building like that, you'd bet I'd do it in a heartbeat. Pole barns / bulidings get a bad rap typically but I love them!

do you mind sharing the cost? I got quoted $17500 today for a 30x40x12 insulated shell with 2 10x10 doors, man door, and 4" thick concrete. no electrical or plumbing.

Maybe it's just the pics but did they not put saw cuts in the floor?

Your right they were back this morning to pour the approach and breeze way, and cut the floor. Almost hated to see it cut looked to perfect, but I know if you don't it will crack were you don't want it and look worse.

SatisTraction that sounds like a good deal to me, your specs sound like mine. I've got the extra 10x5 breezeway and will have CHI 5283 doors, all in about 24k.

Nice place, do you know what the wall insulation is? Looks like that solar shield not very thick, looks easier to put up. Same on roof? I didn't see what part of the world is the build ?
Thanks Jeff

Thanks, had the whole thing warped with product they call plyfoil it's like bubble warp with reflective backing. I figured it would help with lighting some also. I'm in central Illinois.

Nice job! Anxious to see your progress. Like the overhangs, two tone and colors. Door trims add a nice touch.
Interesting re getting permit for the breezway, lol. Have to remember that trick!

Clearly you did your homework.

I would do some proper landscaping along side's so mowers don't do damage. Noting "linear" but instead some radius's kinda break up the "linearity". jmo

Got some of my junk moved in and decided I need to build shelves so that's on the short list to get done, but right now I'm working on electrical.

I like your glass floor, that's what I should have had done. You should be able to just run a dust mop over it to get clean real easy.

What is that taped to the bottoms of your garage door framing to protect it from the concrete and sealer? Is it just plastic or something else?
