Probably the most well known Japanese pliers maker in the world:Keiba pliers
Keiba has won many Good Design and IF Design awards over the years, representing just one of the many tool makers of Sanjo city, Japan. (Sanjo is sort of like the Wuppertal/Solingen/Remscheid of Germany)

KTC oil filter cup socket for newer BMW's. Much better than the BMW factory tool that almost seems like it's made out of recycled pot-metal.
The female opening accepts a 3/8" drive or a ... I think it was a 19mm wrench.

Monte provided the link to Frankstools. Here are some pictures. A couple Reilang oilers are also pictured for comparison.

ricleh - What brand are those T-handles on the cart in the background? What about the holders? How do you like them?

Probably the most well known Japanese pliers maker in the world:Keiba pliers

Thanks to threads like this here on GJ I have learned about and acquired some really nice tools. Vessel Megadora JIS screwdrivers are probably my favorite screwdrivers right now.

I am intrigued with the Keiba pliers and have a diagonal cutter and needlenose on order. Just curious if anyone has them, is the Keiba gunmetal in the pliers joint more marketing hype or does it really make a difference? Wondering how it wears over time?

Anyone have experience with HIT tools of Japan? I was in my favorite local hardware store and saw a few offerings from HIT, including a wire rope cutter

...here it is :

HK Porter used to sell small cable cutters in the USA that were made in Japan. They look almost identicle to the HIT brand ones and were likely a re-branded version of them. The cutters were nice, but in my opinion not up to the quality of the Felco C7 cutters they seem to copy. The cost was about half that of the Felco cutters though.

agreed, but for the price i pay those HK Porter(11 or 14€, depends on the seller and the time of year) they're good for the job of cutting bicycles' Bowden cables and housing even if less so than Felco C7s...

and i won't mind when one of those "disappears" at a race instead of my favorite pair of C7!

My first Nepros ratchet and I can say it is smooth as butter and has some weight to it for the size of the stubby. The details are incredible and chrome is perfect as well. Way past my expectations. Hope you guys didnt mind the number of pictures.

Just received my very first Ko-ken tool from Frank, a z-series 3/8 ratchet. Arrived very quickly, just a few days. Used it for the first time today when changing brake pads on one of my bikes and I'm totally sold. The quality and feel is bogglingly good considering the price, great deal. I had been using some cheap Proxxon ratchets for the last few years but I have a feeling they'll all be getting replaced with Ko-ken. Also picked up a pair of the IPS soft grip pliers and am really pleased. Already plotting my next order....

Nope. Truecraft went bust in early 2000's, IIRC. Some Truecraft items were made by Ko-ken and KTC. Truecraft offered certain wrenches at one point that were made in Spain by a company called Palmera.

*snip*

I don't have their high-grade series; just their standard stuff. I've had two pliers from Keiba and they have lasted 20 years of hobby use. No sloppy joints.

With their high-grade series, they claim it passes 10,000 cycles without adverse wear on the joint. The also claim the joints move freely even if the rest of the plier is rusted.

Keiba sources their steel from Kobelco. Keiba has their own recipe known as Marutoloy (Maruto Alloy). Interestingly, on their 2-component handled high-grade version, the handle grips are sourced from a reknowned plastics manufacturer in Europe.

I hadn't heard of Kingttc but this is a nice tool and only cost about $10.

Yeah, I saw them shopping at Tokyu Hands and Akihabara and thought they were remarkably affordable/cheap.

The only experience I have with HIT tools is their large bolt cutters I've used at work on several occasions. Great price/performance ratio.

Kuken impact wrench in action:

Quite adequate for medium-duty automotive use.
Light weight, compact, great control on the trigger, and very quiet (rated at only 77 decibels).
During tightening, setting is on [1], and it torques it quite reliably to 90ft/lbs with the Ko-ken thin-walled impact wheel socket.

Here's some comparison shots of a Nepros NBR390L next to a Snap-on FL-80:

Most notably, the Nepros is narrower in head width and the selector is recessed. The thickness is essentially the same. The feel of the ratcheting is quite similar between the two.

I just browsed google images for Tekiro tools and I'd have to say, overall, they are typical Taiwanese/Chinese assortments. Although there were some things stamped Made in Japan, like the impact sockets. The metal, hand-carry boxes look identical to the Japanese Toyo tool boxes, too.

Maybe you can take some photos and post the \the Made-in-Japan Tekiro tools here?

ALL for $15 !? Nice score.

Does anyone know any pliers crimp RJ45 plugs made in Japan?

Best Regards
António Luís

Other than Hozan, I couldn't find anything else.
In Japan, it seems like brands like Panduit / Weidmuller (Germany), and Ideal (USA) are quite common. There's also Taiwanese brands which are much cheaper.
