Through Napa atleast, the Mayhew set with 25",31",36" is running $119 through the real deals flyer through the end of the year.Part number CHT61356.Also have a 58" prybar for $90 (CHT 40162). A little more than the one you linked but worth a shot.I like my mayhew pry bars. The one you linked looks similar to what MAC is selling.

at one time mayhew made prybars for sears.

the current ones i've seen look similar.

i dont like prybars with handles, but thats my personal choice.

some of my most used bars are cheap, imported wrecking bars.

cast iron seems like a poor choice for a pry bar
Thats what i was thinking,I didnt notice that at first. It does appearto have a "Mac-ish" handle. Ill check the real deals, I work at a NAPA autocare center and get 20% off..but sometimes the sales are better than my discount. The Craftsman and Mayhew are both appealing, Ive read good things about them.

x2 on this, I like having the pin end better than having a handle. I believe the technical term is "pinch bar", I also find that the round or hexagon shape is less prone to flexing under a heavy load than the square bars used in the handle type prybars.

Define "large".

;)
LOL! I knew someone would bring that up! Im looking for something in the range of 32" to 40". We have a lot of scrap lying around I could make larger bars from when I get time...so on a side note, feel free to post your homemade or tool brand big *** prybars!

The only problem with epsteins is the shipping. If you want a non striking one, check sears red handles, ~$22 for a 32"

Or there is this one. 25" for $12, but that sounds a bit short for your uses. I guess that depends if you have a sears local though.

If you know of any tricks for shipping on epsteins, please share. In my experience their shipping usually negates the savings.

Go to the website, add to basket, the start the check out process. You will be able to input your ZIP code to estimate shipping. If the total is over $30 check your local sears for the 36" pry bar. They are exactly the same (Wilde makes CM pry bars).

I have a six or so foot long steering relay rod from a straight axle chevy truck I use for a giant prybar. I ground one end to a chisel point and cut the tie rod end off the other and ground it smooth. It's for when things get real bad.......

Im about 250 miles west of KC, so, no go there. I live in no mans land.. there isnt much here. Ive kept my eyes out for local used tools..but they never come up. The economy here is so bad, people who have tools will not sell them, they prefer to try to save labor costs by "fixing" machines themselves...when they are done ****** it up, they bring it to us.

Ive got the 3pc red handled Craftsmans ($20), the 36" Craftsman ($25) and two Craftsman 33" locking flex ($20 each new, smokin deal). I keep one of the 33"ers at home. I didnt think I would like the indexing head on the locking flex bars, especially it being made in Taiwan and after using the Snap-On versions many times, but it has become my favorite bar and has seen a ton of industrial use! Very universal bar.

Does anyone have this one? http://www.amazon.com/Jumbo-Professional-Grade-Cast-Iron/dp/B00BJS7XDE/ref=sr_1_94?ie=UTF8&qid=1378066322&sr=8-94&keywords=prybar I cant afford to spend much on one right now. I have the three piece NAPA set, (that I really like) but it only goes up to 18". its not something I will use everyday, maybe once a week. I really want the big snap-ons  but I cant afford them!

I have used that bar for the past 4 years and never have had an issue with it. Mine is braned under Neiko, but looks identical to the one you posted. I have used it in a shop enviroment and even used it to remove a hardwood floor with 2 layers of nailed and glued plywood under it to get to the subfloor. I beat the **** out of it with a 4lb sledge getting the floor up and the only thing I had to do was dress the end of the handle due to a few rough edges.

For the price, and especially having the metal end cap to beat on you can't go wrong.
