Are these Williams wrenches Supercombos?

Hey all,
Looking to buy some long pattern wrenches and have decided on Supercombos from Williams. Found what looks to be a pretty good deal, but I can't find this set anywhere on Williams website. They list a similar 11 piece set but it has different sizes. Can anyone tell me about this set?

I contacted the seller and asked him if they were all marked SuperCombo. He said some were marked Supercombo and some Supertorque. I'm new to Williams so I'm not sure if that is common or not.

I actually looked at that same set last week. They are authentic old stock Supercombos.
They no longer make the wrenches in that Satin finish either, Chrome only.

However that set is mixed 6 point and 12 point which I found odd.

Also with Williams the very small sizes and Large sizes do not come with the enhanced open ends so that makes them just SuperTorques. Its the enhanced open end that makes them SuperCombos.

FWIW,

As far as I can tell from the photo's those all look like Supertorque's rather SuperCombo's. At least they don't look my Supercombo's. My Supercombo's have a thick shank and the shank steps/thins down at the wrench heads. I have Supercombo's in both polished and satin and they don't look like those.

I agree. The 1" wrench shows in the pic is marked "supercombo," but I too noticed that it doesn't look like the current supercombos with a wide beam that thins out around the head.

Perhaps the supercombos now sold are an updated design? I don't think I've ever seen anyone post pics of supercombos of a different style, but perhaps I just missed them.

Yeah I suspect there was some transitioning/overlap from Superrench to Supertorque to Supercombo's, etc.. I just checked some of my larger size William's wrenches and some of those simply say Williams USA. Looks like there could be different variants out there over the years.

Why don't they include a 15/16" wrench in this set? That is a size I use regularly in my work.

I think the bigger sizes aren't available in the "supercombo" style and are only available with plain open ends.

I don't care enough to check right now, but I noticed that recently in the Williams catalog. You can check the online version and it explains which sizes are supercombos and which have plain open ends.

Interesting. I still think 80 bucks is a pretty good price, but I'm leaning towards saving for a newer production set. I like to know exactly what I'm getting. Seems like kind of an odd set. Thanks for the information guys.
