I picked up a pair of electrician's pliers and a pair of mini bolt cutters. Very nice tools for sure and the prices were right.

If Lowes have these Knipex on closeout, where will you have them warranty in the future?

Good question. I assume with Knipex themselves, but I heard that they can be ornery and generally awful to their customers.

Doesn't matter all that much to me though.

The only knipex stuff my lowes has "clearanced" are the 10" slip joint for ~$13.50 and the 8" pliers for ~$10.50 :eyecrazy: Neither of which I really need, nor is the price cheap enough to just try them IMHO. If they hit $5 or less, I will have to go for it. :p I found them across town for $5, but the gas cost will negate the savings. Lets hope the prices keep getting slashed. I really want a pair of those mini bolt cutter, they look like they could be real handy.

Wow. I wish I could find a pair of the 8" combination pliers. Go get me a few of the $5 ones and I'll pay for your gas! :lol_hitti

:lol_hitti  It's not THAT far and I drive an econo box. If they had other stuff on sale I would do it. According to the website, the 8" combination pliers are the only thing discounted across the channellock and knipes line at that store. Just more of lowes drinking and discounting. Makes no freaking sense. I found the same pliers for anywhere from $5-$25 all within a ~40mile radius. :headscrat

All kidding aside, you might want to give that particular store a call and ask what they have. The Lowes website showed my store as being out of stock on everything, and that was a week ago.

According to their website, they have a bunch of everything. Given their prices I don't doubt it. It ain't in the most....affluent area, so I kinda doubt if $20+ each pair of pliers fly off the shelves. :dunno:

Ironically the do have a few out of stock items, but they list at $40+ per pair. Ex. wire strippers & crimpers.

I bought the 5 pc kit missing one driver from lowes clearence, Only one left and dirt cheap. I simply emailed them off there site asking where I could purchase a replacement, the contact form asked for info such as adress name ect.. I told them where I bought it and that lowes dropped the line, was there any other local retailer in my area.... 4 days later the missing driver was in my hands no charge.

Watch it, buddy. Maybe you should go read about OTHER people's experiences on the GJ and the Amazon.com reviews.

Nice edit. :D

The search engine on this site would have me here for weeks looking lol.

As for the ********, just from what they did for me when I didn't even ask. I also found out one the main importers for knipex started out like 2 miles from me, why I got it so quickly. Anglo american tools, but its not retail location. I did the edit after I read it and it sounded harsh lol.

I bought a whole bunch of stuff with GarageJournalitis, and returned some of it realizing that I really don't have a use for it... LOL.

But, I kept a few things. Bought the bolt cutters, a set of Alligators (don't need them enough for the Cobras, but they'll be used on my sprinkler system), a set of needlenose for my inside work. Seems like I had something else as well, but can't remember at the moment.

Easier to say what I didn't. The insulated set and the linesman with the crimper. Got one of everything else. First knipex tools I ever bought. All my pliers prior were channellock, Klein and Snap On. Definately better than Klein and channellock and right there with S/O. Some I like better than snap on some I prefer snap on.

I'm sorry I don't follow. So is that what they retail for or what you actually paid on clearance? I'm just trying to find a trend in lowes discount madness. I truly think they drink and discount. Or aimlessly through darts at a board full of prices. Seems to make little sense. :headscrat

For us, there seems to be no reason and rhyme to the markdown madness of our 7 area Lowes Stores.

They seem to be moving stock around regionally to consolidate.

A dozen needle nose Knipex at the Lowes Norwood with no sku tag and were not even in the system.

10 minutes later they got one to go thru the reader at $18 ish and then on second scan clearenced it at $12 ish.

Lowes KY had Knipex linesmans at $12 ish last month.

Lowes Colerain had the linesmans and many others with some marked down and some still full price just like the Channellocks they stock.

Lowes up by you had cable shears , again with no sku and no tags in the clearence section this time that came up $12ish.

Some area Lowes have a secret clearence section hidden in the main aisles. Somewhere. They move it often. Others do not.

Our area stock held out pretty long considering, but the www tends to gossip and do a run on deals in a hurry.

I went to the new Menards opening two weeks ago here in town.
3 hour lines 15 carts deep for each line.
You would have thought it was the ONLY f*&(ing hardware store in town. :)
And there is another Menards just 10 minutes north of it.

They do carry Knipex though.
No deals but at least another brick and mortar retailer selling them.
I was happy.

Shhh jjjrmx5, we need to keep our $hit on lockdown. :ninja: :lol_hitti

Yea the colerain or westchester store is usually my go to. Yea it does seem like ridge has the best deals. That was the one I was referring to in my post a few back. It is a nice store, just a long ways for me and IMHO that exit is just a PITA.

I hit the new menards about a week back on a sat afternoon. Neat, but I wasn't real impressed. The only thing I got was a can of ~500 GB zip ties for $1.98 and two gallons of blue washer fluid for 50¢ each. Spent about an hour looking around. Looked at their channellock stuff and what not. Bit out of my price range. The used market is more of my venue. But $5 at lowes ain't bad. IF I could find them. I live kinda close to the "old" one so... Just prefer lowes for my general house DIY needs. Menards is really a strange place. You have to watch them on price. Like most superstores they will cut the price on one thing, but get it back on something else.

Edit again. I have yet to find any real "deals" on channellock stuff locally. Nothing like some have mentioned on here. Everything still well in the double digits.
