garage floor gets very wet

when its humid or raining outside, the floor gets real wet, any cures for this other then jack hammering it out and putting down plastic and pouring new cement,? we keep two Harleys in there and they get damp just sitting there. thanks in advance

It could either be condensation on a cold floor from above, or moisture from below. Tape a piece of plastic down flat and see if water develops under it. If so, it's coming from below. If not, dehumidification is really your option.

I live in Michigan's thumb and have the same problem, especially in the spring. High humidity and the slab and everything under it is cold. BTW I did the test with the plastic, definitely condensation. I have to run De-humidfiers in the basement and will be adding one or more to the garage.

My parent's garage in Wisconsin also had the "seating" problem. We found if we let the "hatch" into the attic open that the ventilation thru the attic would keep it dry.

My house garage floor gets very damp, wet actually. I'm sure its because it had no vapor barrier. My shop was build with a vapor barrier and has no issues.

I see a jackhammer in my future. Hope you have a better outcome. :thumbup:

Just to ask, but could he insulate the garage to control the temp swings and keep the condensation to a minimum?
