Sweet setup. :drool: Not sure if I would shell out that kind of cash for it, but nice boxes nevertheless.

Looks like a stack form the 50's.
Top --> KR-56
Mid-->KR-420
Bottom-->KR-352

I'm not sure what they are talking about all the trays. To my knowledge SO didn't make socket trays like that. Just the typical hand carry tray (optional) for their top boxes. But they seem to think they are "rare". :dunno:

actually those trays are what socket sets used to come in,
not the cheap plastic throwaways.

dont know if they are really "rare" but they are sorta hard to find in the used market, i buy every used one i find.

looks like reasonable price to me.

Those are great looking boxes who ever buys them is a lucky person in my eyes. Mac still sells those socket trays if people are interested in finding some.

Just for some additional information Wright, Williams, and Cornwell also sold similar socket trays. And Many brands had them in the past and I bet one main factory made them and just put different brand stickers to tell which was which. I personally own two macs three Williams and one wright.

f'n kids :lol_hitti

i have metal trays from SO, matco and mac.
i even have a one or two blue ones from SO

most of my "working" sockets are in metal trays.
they stay where i put them, and dont fall over.
the rest of my more used sockets are in the magnetic MTS holders.
seldom used stuff is on SO metal rails.

:Violent: Sorry guys, can I get a little credit for atlest getting the model numbers correct? :lol_hitti

That's a very reasonable price. I'd try and get it for $300. I have the top box and it's sweet!

I do like that top, but think I would rather have one of the older K-55's. :headscrat How do you think the overall build quality difference between the two is? The K-55 had the front panel instead of the folding top/front cover.
