saw this on CL for a lowball price and just had to go for it. These testers are absolutely essential for any shop that does older restorations. It's still useable on many modern alternators, but my needs are pretty basic.

It needs some paint and a good cleaning, but everything electrical works well

Its a shame how much of the big old stuff ends up in a scrap yard. I hope somebody that likes it gets it.

i'd guess 70's......

Correct Krusty -- Date code on it says 1978. It's a nice piece and I'm currently taking it apart to paint, replace wires/leads as needed, and refurbish. It's also 220v -- the drive motor inside this thing is huge.

I don't know what it is, but every old piece of Sun equipment I've purchased in the last few months has had a mountain of mouse **** inside. Getting quite sick of it. Those critters chew everything up; right down to the copper.

I'll post pics when I get it back in line.
