So this is from last weekend, I pulled into this guys drive way and this was sitting there in the drive way, I wonder over to it and the guy asks me if I know what it is because no in the past two days has had a clue. I tell him yeah I have a pretty good idea what it is and what it was used for. he tells me he wants to see it gone, he's got 50 dollars on it. I tell him I not really loving it for 50.00, he says make me an offer and i'll help you load it....

20.00 later he helps me load it, 2 timing lights, 2 other allen testers (i'll post pictures later) and I am on my way

Now that is some suckge! I'd love to fined one of those, just because! I'd probably only use it a few times in my life, but the cool factor!...

I went to an Estate Sale during lunch today. I picked up a set of Fleet SAE wrenches for my nephew. The PO had apparently misplaced the 11/16" so it had been replaced with a Craftsman. The set was $5.00 which works for me.

Now I need to keep an eye out for a Fleet 11/16 5922 to round out the set and some more toys for the nephew.

Cheers

Jim

I'll keep an eye out for that 11/16, there are a hand full of Fleet at the pawn shop in the small town down the road.

Great pull Nine4! On the six point crafty's, are you looing for metric or SAE?

I need 1/4"-9/16" and 1"up in SAE, in Metric I need them all. :)

I'm no spring chicken but What is that? I just can't see what it is for?

John

Me either, my eyes are getting bad since I turned 40. I bought my first pair of reading glasses yesterday. :( So, what is the Allen machine?

OK I FINALLY got back to pics (Crazy week...) of that free pile...

A nut can of Driver bits, a life time supply as well as the odd larger drive bits up front.

attachment.php

ammo pouch, old plug adapters (Non Polarized), old night light, hi pressure hose end, 2 burrs, ez outs, and cutoff wheels

attachment.php

A mirror (cracked), Window scraper, ream, long reach magnet, and another long reach I'll make into something, and a cobbled up hex drive for a yankee driver

attachment.php

Paging Jeff! American locks marked "US" and some have a set no. also marked (None match) most are solid brass/bronze, including the shackle. the smallest one is marked BELL, but I think that is a lock maker and not "Bell Systems"?

the next to smallest pair are marked brother and BR Camel 25, and the single third smallest is an Eagle.

attachment.php

An old Cell Phone, from the late 90's AudioVox for the Airtouch system, (Now part of Verison?) It actually charged up and I'll bet I could get it registered!

attachment.php

And a bunch of test leads and test clips

Those large odd looking bits look a lot line the ones that fit my hand held impact tool.

See. The best things in life are free.

Only one sale today.
Got a brand new Senco pneumatic stapler for $2!
Just have to go buy some staples for it.

Tomorrow will hopefully be more productive. Hell I just finished cleaning up last weeks haul.

Sent via carrier pigeon.

Yes, two of them, I guess I am wrong, I was most happy with the old craftsman 1/2 ratchet with the pass through bit....Rich.. Did they also make an 1/2 in the center drive ratchet? Rich

No 1/2" or 1/4" drive on the speeders, just the 3/8". And only for about 3-4 years, 1959- 1963. On eBay they go for between $60-$120. If there is a bidding war, it can get up to $150. (please don't ask me how I know. I feel so ashamed)

OK had to side track to watch the end of the shutout. (and dang near a perfect game!)

An Eico bench VOM, (Note the plug, not too portable), and a few spreaders.

attachment.php

A 25w weller soldering pencil, a cheap Taiwan battery tool, combination head, (Homemade?) chisel and something, with a grooving chisel jammed in

attachment.php

A shop built Aluminum drawer
attachment.php

An Aluminum tray that I suspect was made from leftovers and other parts that are shop made. I like this, I don't think it's too practical but I like it! :bounce:

attachment.php

Old school snake lights :) I think I can get the working again.

attachment.php

Not tools, but interesting; a book mark and a screwed Oscar?? :wtf:

attachment.php

And that is basically it, the rest are bits and pieces for the "Hardware Store"

Outlaw, that round aluminum tray should slide right into a 5 gallon bucket. It's great way to haul drill motor, tools, driver, etc at bottom of bucket and the tray at top full of screws, etc.

That score by Rich for $1.50 is crazy . . . . . gotta love that ROI !!! :D

DAMN! I haven't seen one of those since the 1970's when I worked in a Chevron station in Boise, ID. Had lots of cool flashing lights like an old depth finder.
Awesome find and maximus suckage!

Well, looking at Rich's haul and then finding out my air compressor works but has a hole in the tank made me feel down about my haul....lol

I guess i need to look for a tank now as the compressor and motor works great but i didn't let it build too much pressure due to the tank hole.

Spending the weekend preparing for a move at the end of the month so no yard sales etc for me. LOOK WHAT I'M HAVING TO PASS UP at this estate sale. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it . . .

http://www.estatesales.net/estate-sales/480126.aspx

Jarhead0408 posted that sale in another thread inquiring about the crown top lathe and someone posted in that thread saying the lathe and tooling was listed at $350 and the milling machine was listed as a Clausing Drill Press for $275 :scared:

Two planned stops today, then a few just for kicks, glad I took the risk! First tool stop turned up nothing but some Ginsu knives and a wooden car totaling $3.50
pic121.jpg

Second planned tool stop was a lil better, saw the Craftsman in the box and it was marked $5 whole box, I grabbed it and the Sargent Level and parts washing tray for $9.25 total.
pic122.jpg

Saw a garage sale sign across the road from the second stop so we headed over. I got this noisy speedaire compressor, box of Popular Mechanics/Sciece from the 60s, Metal Wrench Rack, Crown Top Torque Wrench and Race Car box with two cars inside, all for $20 total.

pic114.jpg

pic117.jpg

pic120.jpg

pic119.jpg

pic118.jpg

After that score, I decided to venture out to the Snap On guys house again, saw he posted another ad mentioning tools. Problem is, he is one of the farthest out at 25 minute drive. I get out there and it's a bust, nothing new but HH ****. Boo, leaving there I decide to hit the over priced flea market down the road. I got the Craftsman Driver and Snap On socket for $1
pic123.jpg

Leaving there and headed home, still feeling the tingle of tools for sale I pass a poster board GS sign that said TOOLS!! I get to the house and there is no one but the seller, some folks leaving. Walking up the drive, I see a big hunk of rust and ask how much, "$70" he says, "It's OLD". I glance, trying not to overly excited and keep walking to the tool table. Nothing much left on the tables so without looking again, I ask if he'll take $50 on the rust bucket, thinking he will meet me at $60... He accepted the $50 and away I walk with my very first Wilton Bullet, to my surprise, it's a 5" Looks as if it has been welded possibly on the rear but it opens and closes smooth and tight. :willy_nil
pic115.jpg

One final stop near the shop on the way back and I got the lil flex neck lamp for a project for $1.
pic116.jpg

All in all, a good day sailing for me, hope all you guys make out like bandits too!!!
