The eternal question
I am in the process of redoing a two car garage after making do for forty years with a mismash of stuff. The floor is concrete, sloped to the garage doors but pretty much even going across . I was going to go with the open design of one of the products but then friends said they didnt like it for dropping small parts or fluid clean up. That made me lean towards the coin design. I have ordered samples of all but any insight would be helpful, I have read and searched the forum and it seems like both are good products.
I use the garage for a 32 Roadster and a daily driver and in Ca its rain in my area no snow or road debris. I dont plan to wash the car in the garage just repairs and cleaning the roadster.
Also I have read about some clicking with Race Deck true or not and if so .........is the garden cloth underlay a good idea. Hope this isnt too long, its a real investment and I want to make an informed choice. Thanks and this forum has really helped with the project.

I chose a mix of Racedeck Freeflow and the circle track (coin) tiles. I put the circle track in the area where I do most of my sawing, grinding, vise stuff and drilling etc. This has worked great in my set-up. Where I park and work on the vehicles (pickup, cars, bike and tractor) is all Freeflow. I haven't had any issues with losing stuff under the tiles.

I get virtually no clicking from either the solid or open tiles. Or, if I do, it is so minimal that I cannot hear it. I mean, you can get walking noise on any floor, so of course you get noise from walking on a plastic floor. But none of the "clicks" that seem to bother some people.

I've had the opportunity to install a few floors with RaceDeck tile as well as others. One thing I found in my experience is that the flatter the floor, the less chance you have of tile making any noise at all. The premium brand tiles also seem to run less of a risk of making any noise. If they do make any noise, it really isn't that loud, but it is noticeable. There is an article about noisy tile here.

I used the synthetic garden cloth once on a floor and it was whisper quiet. One nice thing I noticed about the cloth is that it provided for a nice dark back drop for the free flow style of tile.

That's good information. In your opinion, who makes the "premium brand tiles?"
