Ok I'm building a smal bodyshop and have some basic questions that I feel can be answered on this site.

1. I have a rough unfinished shop floor and was wondering if an epoxy clear could fill some of the rough and help with sweeping out the dust.

2. A section of th eshop will be a corugated building. I'm thinking of having it spray foamed for insulation are there any other more affordable ways to insulate this type of building.

3. The front of the building will be built to look like a sallon with board and batten wood and a small porch like overhang and possibly a wooden (porch style) entry ramp. The entry door is the problem I would like something that maybe folds upwards or anything but a roll up door. Any suggestions?

On the front door. I have done some research and believe a horizontal bifold design will be what I use.

You might get a smooth metal industrial door (bigger than a standard house door) and custom paint it like the ones seen in old westerns. But then you might have people coming in for a beer or two.

Do you have enough room to the side for a sliding door?
That would be the easiest and lowest cost for a DIY.

The horizontal bi-fold will still need a hinge line.
The same companies do a single piece slab type door opened with hydraulics that will not need any hinges.
Check the websites a little more.
Talk to their sales people about choices.
It is a bit more complex than the bi-fold due to the hydraulics and the size and placing of the cylinders.
So it not be a DIY option.
And it will not be cheap.

The building has not been erected yet. I have decided the front will be a horizontal bifold door with a walkin door built into it. Hydrolics is an opion but I have not run across any cylinders as of yet but that may change. Door size will be roughly 10'H x 12-14'W.

Any help with the other questions would be greatly appreciated. Also wondering if anyone has ever cleared over rusted tin to presurve the patina?

If you really want to stick to the western saloon theme, I would think you could go with a rigid one-piece fold up door with windows and paint and battens to make it appear like a large saloon window.

What about regular solid garage doors with your own design on the front of them?

So we can assume this is a complete DIY project?

This will totally be a DIY project. I have poured the slab but that is not a strong point for me and there were no whirly-birds in my area so the slab finish is a little rough in places. Does anybody have a suggestion for a clear sealer or coating that would fill that in a little. Enough that bondo dust could be swept off. The front of the shop will be board and batten with a harozontal opening door with a man door built into that. My dad and I have discussed a full hydrolic front but the cost is to much at this point.

Really need a floor sealing opion that can possible fill some of the rough spots and insulation options for a corigated steel building.
