Saw a bunch of USA made channellocks in the bin at mine as well, I inquired about trading in the "New" irwins and they said they could only trade for another pair of "new" ones. I could have just kept placing all the chinese made irwins in the box as a seemingly endless cycle.

Just had the painful experience trading in my Robo Grip pliers. I was the first one at this store so everybody needed to learn to process

was this the lowes off Golf & arlington hts rd? if so there idiots there anyways and the the ****'y looking 40-50's lady at customer service is a PITA when trying to get clearance price matched etc

You can pick up a pair of pliers from our dollar store for $1 and Lowe's is right behind it.
whats the difference between dollar store and kobalt pliers realy?

If I was working there and was assigned the job to haul them out to the dumpster, I'd be cherry picking the rejects.

or have a garage sale... people buy anything if its cheap enough and the cost to you is nothing

Picked up a pair today. I traded in a koren made mid size linesmens with damaged teeth. I asked did it have to a similar type, she said yes the management would check. Then I pointed out a pair of S/J and LT handed tin snips in the box. When she saw mine she said (those are fine, it looks like you spent good money for those). I love how no two stores are the same.

How true! I asked. My local Lowes allowed me to trade 2 $1.00 s/j pliers from Dollar General for 2 of the Irwins. Guy at customer service counter said "Sure" and put the Irwins in a bag. Didn't look like he did anything on the register at all.

There is no Irwin T&G plier display at the San Francisco Lowes. Are there Irwin T&G plier displays at the South San Francisco or Daly City Lowes?

Rocky River, (CLE) Ohio has it (says on box until 9/30). They did punch in a reciept. Irwin display was almost hidden by contractors exit (after point of sale) so I'm sure most people miss it!

Pro Supervisor wouldn't allow a swap of junk for junk even though she understood what I was saying.
I got lucky that I got my 2 Channellocks and 1 (US-made) Vise-Grips a few days ago. After that, people from another shift wouldn't let me do it. I don't know why it matters to them.

Speaking of CLE the displays on Miles rd and Ridge rd are now empty.

Total tally now that this promotion is over: I saved 4 US-made Channellocks and 1 US-made Vise-Grip locking pliers from the scrap pile. And I got rid of 6 or so Dollar Tree-type of crappy locking pliers.

Thanks to OP for pointing out this deal.
