Very cool vintage ratchets I also think the snappy is unique and I personally haven't seen that style with a quick release and lever like that.

Sent directly from the Snap On Kool Aid factory.

I have several identical SK ratchets in 3/8 & 1/2 drive and they are among my favorites. And yeah I also have modern truck brand stuff but I still like the old SK stuff alot.

That SO is interesting, I've never seen one like it either. Wonder what the date is.

The Thorsen 77 was the ratchet in my first tool set, a gift from sister an BIL. It gave many years of good use and I gave it to Daughter and SIL since it had sentimental value. That ratchet is the easiet to use of any I have handled. It can be reversed with a flick ot the thumb, easier than any thumb lever rachet that I have handled. It is compact for working in close places. The guts are out in the open and can be cleaned with a blast of air and given a shot of oil. I have never seen one broken, but I'm sure
Bubba managed to break one somewhere.

The SK is one of the oldest fine tooth ratchets that I know of and those with SK Wayne labels are very well thought of. The fact that SK ratchets are still in productio says a lot about them.

The New Britain ratchet probably dates from the 1930s. New Britain made them for others such as Craftsman, and I think, Husky.

That Snap On is a newer ratchet. Below is info from Snap On web page. The hot stick referred to is the pole made of fiberglass or other non conducting material for electrical work.

Ratchet, Standard, Lineman's
Stock#: LS71A

The lineman's ratchet features a large reverse lever. Hole in handle for "hot stick" universal.

I think the Williams is a S-52

the ratchet clearly has B-52 stamped on it....

if you compare it to the pen, or the razor blade laying nearby, its obvious that its a 3/8 drive

 on the old B-52 and S-52/53 ratchets. some of the best, and my personal favorite standard ratchets. ive got multiple of each. still looking for the M-52
