Kreg #2 square bits

Ive been doing a bunch more Kreg joints recently, and I need to replace my 3" and 6" long bits.

Is there a better Brand or should I just stick with Kreg?

Kreg bits are okay. I also use Craftsman square bits, but because I had a coupon.

I personally really enjoy using the Milwaukee shockwave impact bits for driving screws. The last time I had a major project where I had to drive a lot of screws, a single #2 square bit was able to complete the whole project that involved over 600+ 2-1/2" screws driven into OSB and wood framing. The bit was still usable after that project, but did start showing signs of wear.

I like the shockwave bits in general, but I have some the same length and size in dewalt, and the dewalt bits become stupid cheap after holiday sales. They work great for the kreg setup.

Love the bit, hate the paint, so i won't buy them. The paint comes off and clogs up the bit holder on impact guns. It jambs the bit in so tight you need vise grips to pull it out.

The Dewalt bits are okay for P2 drive, but the square drive bits from Dewalt for me seem to get stuck in the screw head. I found myself having to pull the bit off the screw head and put it back in the impact driver too frequently. Didn't have that problem with the shockwave square drive bit. Might be the deck screws I was using too, who knows...

My Kreg's work fine, but I also bought some bits from McFeeleys and they work fine also.

That's odd. Both me and my boss have the problem with the coating coming off the bits and getting stuck. We've been buying the plain old anodized ones and no more stuck bits.

Maybe give Alpen a try too, might be more expensive, but I am sure they last a lot longer.

Don't know if they are available in your region though.

The kreg bits are OK but they are expensive. Home depot had a closeout on Senco bits and I thought these were better than Kreg, and much cheaper. I also bought some from McMaster.com.
