Please tell me your opinion

I purchased the HW 6 ton jack stands from Tooltopia on Amazon. I received them today and the box had a hole in it. The extension to the stand is a little messed up but that's not so much of an issue.

The stand bases are not 100% square. The wobble a little bit. One has paint damage from shipment. Its right down to bare steel and I would have to touch it up.

I don't worry about minor issues generally but I shouldn't have to paint something that is new, especially when these stands cost over $100 and they should be square and have all four legs on the floor.

What say you? I would like an honest opinion. if I am making too much of it, then let me know.

There is also more paint damage on the rest of the jack. This is just the worst of it. The whole stand needs to be repainted.

I would send them back. I'm like you, if it's so minor I can touch it up in a couple minutes and it will look like new, that's one thing. If the product is downright damaged or defective, that's another.

I would touch up the paint no problem, but out of square is a deal breaker. You can get better than that from HF.

okay guys, I thought the same. The deal breaker is the out of square. For <$100, you expect 4 legs of the base to be planted flat on the ground.

I have a call into tooltopia and I will call HW on Monday also. Shipping will certainly be expensive. Hope they take care of this.

Don't worry about shipping, it's all on them. Don't accept it any other way.

Absolutely send those puppies back. I've gotten plenty of items shipped from companies which looked to be packaged by a 4 year old. The kicker is a lot of these type places will overcharge shipping. I guess to pay the medical/liability insurance for the numbskulls they hire.

If you bought it through Amazon, that's who you should be dealing with for the return, not Tooltopia. Amazon is great with returns & when you receive something defective/damaged, the return is on their dime. They'll send you a return prepaid shipping tag & UPS will bring the new item & you can give them the defective one at the same time. I've had to do this a couple times & why I never hesitate shopping with Amazon. Great online company to deal with. Not to mention their prices are generally better.

Amazon is great with returns & when you receive something defective/damaged, the return is on their dime. They'll send you a return prepaid shipping tag & UPS will bring the new item & you can give them the defective one at the same time. First time dealing with an issue from amazon. I read that if the order was filled by amazon, then they deal with it, but if it was a different seller on amazon, you deal with the seller. I could be wrong. Live and learn.

I ordered a jack from tooltopia and a caster was bent during shipping. I emailed tooltopia and they forwarded my email to hw. I can't remember if I talked to them on the phone or it was just emails. But they sent me all new wheels.
I imagine hw will just send you a new base.

Tool topia made good on this and sent another set. I didn't have to send the defective set back. The new set has Paint that was damaged in shipping but the work fine with no issues.

Whats wrong with the idea of putting some serious weight on the wobble stand and see if it loses the wobble?

Seems really odd that much wobble would ever make it past any kind of QC. Do all of them have wobble and none of the replacements?

The idea is okay if we are talking a slight wobble, but one wasn't slight. OTOH the stand will lose its wobble and balance on three legs if it doesn't flex.

There must be 2 or 3 companies that make these stands. As I recall I ordered a set which were ok and bought a set from the parts store which were better, They had a gage heavier material and I don't see little flats welded on the legs on these?
