With my elderly in-laws in town and seeing all the rain and wind on Whidbey Island today...I'm going to grab my trusty cooler and radio and tune up my portable generator.

Stripped the seats and carpet from a 02 Honda Civic (not mine) and pressure washed them all. Looks a thousand times better now. Waiting for them to dry overnight so I can put them back in tomorrow.

Tyvek and trimmed out the front wall of my garage yesterday. Smashed my left index finger with a hammer tacker too (not broken).

I repair the dashboard of my '65 Dart. Most of the old printed board was burnt. I solder wires to repair each connection.
And it works!

I welded the window seal of the rear hatch of my '74 VW van. Most of it was rusted so I cut it out and weld some fresh metal on.

And I sand it to bare metal.

Still have the driver door and cargo door to do... But at least, I think I'm done with the welding on this rig.

I put a new top on a very cool old typewriter stand.

The wood is a single piece of Douglass Fir, 20" X 20", and was reclaimed from the old Boeing plant #2.

Plant 2 was in operation during WWII, building B-17's.

I love the cast iron caster covers, the foot pedal used to raise and lower the wheels, and the old bolt holes in the wood.

Not sure what I'll end up using it for, but I'm sure it will find a home in my shop.

Did you get the stand from the Boeing plant as well? Cool looking table, I'm sure you'll find somewhere to use it.

Gave my 10 year old daughter a treasure chest jewelry box I made for her birthday. It is made from Macrocarpa with brass fittings. All corners finger jointed and glued. We filled it with gold wrapped chocolate bars and coins to look like treasure. She loved it and even shared some chocolates with us all.

Beautiful Work:thumbup:Dad. Hopefully that will stay in the family for many, many years.

I painted my 5 ton press that I bought a couple of months ago. I shot it with I.H. Red with TSC's Majic Brand of paint. I'm well pleased with how it turned out. I still have the hydraulic jack to clean and shoot and will more than likely do that later today.

I was on the Olds site, trying to get some dimensions figured out as far as the problem with the steering column and seat location in momma's ride ('64 Cutlass) and as soon as I get a couple of dimensions from a member on the other forum, I'm going to cut up some steel and make some steel "track relocator brackets) to move the seats back some so I fit a little better.

The wifes brother usually stops on Sundays, so that will take up a couple hours of time, then I'll be back in the garage and busy.

. Cut square tube for 2 work/utility benches for the workshop and 2 bench seats for the indoor outdoor area. about 80 odd cuts on the cold saw at work.
. Fitted up 3 x replacement 2 x 36 watt fluorescent light fittings ready to install in the workshop.
. Purchased a heap of light switches and power points for my sons renovation project.
. Emptied the trailer of a 1/2 yard of crushed rock by bucket for the storage area at the rear of the garage, no barrow access.
Plus other non garage related chores;
. Mow lawns.
. Water plants.
. Empty front porch, scrub and pressure wash, dry and coat with sealer.

Beer o'clock now.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

I was just in and out fetching tools for a couple of projects, my brother-in-law was down and we always have a few jobs lined up to work on together. We fitted a salvaged aluminium framed double glazed window into the back of the tin shed down the bottom of the garden, framed it in, reused the old sill, and got it screwed in nice and tight and cut the wriggly tin around it.

We then did some manual labour and shifted my forge down there, put the anvil in a wheelbarrow and moved that and also a big box of blacksmithing tools as this is going to end up as my forge. I still need to build a hood for the forge, scrounge up a chminey, build a bench to mount my leg vise on and maybe run electricity out there.

then we finally got around to putting up a TV aerial on the end of the games room so now we have a working TV in there that we can watch whilst leaning against the bar or playing a game of pool or enjoying a game of darts.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Sorted and put my hunting gear away for the week. Now I just have to grab it and go next Friday afternoon. Made a couple of lines for haulin my equipment in and out of the trees. Boxed up a power steering gear to return later this week.
Spent time taking inventory of available wood and what I need to work on the next couple of projects out there, attached carport/shed and insulating/closing in the walls on the steal building.

Removed my front door, stripped and sanded it, stained one side, and sprayed three coats of poly. I have to prime and paint the other side after work today.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Yesterday I decided I was going to finally start on the remodel of my garage! :bounce:

I'll have to start a thread of my own to document the progress. It's going to be slow!

Here's the cabinets I built yesterday. They are 31" tall (inside the box) and 28 1/2" wide.

Nice one, will keep a look out for your thread, I am in this same process now.

Picked up my weekend deals off craiglist this morning. Cabinet was $50 and gave him $20 more for the rest.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

spent the last few weekends moving tons of stuff around the garage. That furnace is now up in the attic where it will be connected (gif of it going up using my electric hoist a few pages back). Still so much to move around once I start the electrical wiring before winter. The current temporary work wall:

Put a carb kit in a sweet little 015L Stihl chainsaw I snagged last weekend at auction. Got a sweet little saw for around $30 now. Changed antifreeze and checked over tractor. Going to hook up corn picker tomorrow. Cleaned up a bit after mounting new tires on wife's truck.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Wife has been complaining about a rattling sound under her Sequoia. Climbed under tonight to find that when my son changed the oil (with supervision) he didn't tighten the screws to the under engine shroud completely(apparently not enough supervision) and that is what she was hearing. All fixed now.
