I wouldn't want a wobble plus extension. I either want all wobble or no wobble; not both on one extension.

Have your dealer give you a new one, done deal. When it breaks in 40 years, have him give you a new.

Why not? When I first saw these I thought they were the best of both worlds, no?

Any wobble does not like high torque that is the primary reason they fail and the wobble plus are in my experiences weaker than than standard wobble. You will run into this regardless if it's snap on or hf but snap will take care of you and give you a new one

+1,000,000.

Anyone can have a few bad tools get out of the factory, it's how the company fixes problems that really shows how good or bad they are.

I have wobble plus from the very first day Snappy brought them around. Only 3/8 extensions I have in my main box and I haven't broke one. Used on impacts daily. Yes I'm one of the evil assholes who uses chrome on impacts.

This is obscene. Sacralidge. Do you need to repent your sins now?

Get it back to the dealer pronto, while you still have a dealer. Then hope if it breaks again you still have a dealer. Snap on *****. Mac *****. No dealers any more.

Next time, try your Snap-On dealer before you try the Internet. (And then try something similar with some less-polarizing tool brand. I'll bet your results from Snap-On will please you more than the latter.)

I have the 1/4 set of wobble plus and am enjoying them so far it can go from wobble to standard without much convincing as you are using it. I don't really need a wobble too often so it hasn't been a concern the set was a great price from my dealer on promo at the time so I bought.

I can't quite tell from the photo. Has the detent-ball fallen out completely, or has it just gotten stuck inside?

These can be true time savers when you just need a little extra space to get the socket in a tight spot. Use mine all the time.

Not Snap On, but US-made Craftsman. Every tool box should have one just in case.

^This

Folks would be going postal

Huge double standard in this place

If it was a HF or Chinese Craftsman tool I bet the Garage Journal reaction would be quite different.

Yup. Some of you saw the reaction when I questioned Channellock QC, even documenting the fit and finish from some of those hated brands in comparison.

The truth is, things slip through the cracks everywhere, not just HF or just Snap On. Keep an open mind and evaluate the tools ability to do the job.

Well unfortunately your never gonna satisfy everyone, the Majority of people understand how tools work and dont freak out every time there is a failure or QC issue regardless of the brand. If I'm being completely honest with you I was pleasantly surprised that this thread didn't take the path of choosing a side or defending your tools honor etc. It appears while inspiring, it was short lived, your post has awoken the North versus South mentality, which has brought little to No assistance to the OP or his problem.

Good day.

The reason your Channellock complaints were so criticized is because they were silly cosmetic complaints, IMO. If the OP was complaining about something silly, he would be criticized.

Yep, silly cosmetic complaints...different jaw thicknesses, jaws that don't line up, wobble. And yet, somehow Kobalt, HF and the generic Big Lots tools managed to those cosmetic defects right. Hmm.

*(for the record I went to Menards and swapped them out for the same pair that did have jaws that lined up, and were the same thickness. Unfortunately I had to go through quite a few packages to accomplish that task.)

BUT the original point of this thread...just swap them out with your Snap On dealer, that's why you pay the big money in the first place. I am sure it's not an issue and you'll have a new one the next time the truck shows up.

Just got this replaced by my delaer today no questions asked. He said he had quite a few recalls this week.

Detent pin fell out after I had just opened the package.

wobble plus are terrible imo

I ponied up and bought the 1/4 complete set- regretted it ever since.

They slip past the wobble to easy and into the straight postion. Doesn't take much force-can't say enough bad about them.

Judging by all the Snap On extensions I have seen on Ebay and elsewhere missing the detent ball - this seems to be a "common" problem.

In my personal universe I have seen hundreds of all kinds of extensions in all kind of conditions but very few missing the ball.

Honestly I am quite a fan of Snap On tools but this has kept me from investing in a extension set from them - since warranty is hardly viable option for me on Snap On due to shipping cost.

I have had my Wobble Extensions since 1977 and have never had to have one replaced.
